  1. I have two from Ecco, both are great lofts. The race loft is heavy duty and perfect for what I need. The stock loft is standard built and I've added my own aviary and wire door to improve air flow and light. Both were made to my exact spec. Delivery times were longer than quoted though. Still, great service and great lofts. However, having see the Tranters lofts I could be tempted for my next one... Lee
  2. there is a previous post somewhere I'm sure about a chap who races the channel to a small loft and only breeds a couple of YB's a year. When I get chance i'll try and find the link. Keep it small and simple and it'll be harder to overwhelm yourself and get it wrong. Lee
  3. I made my mind up when I went to only get what was on my shopping list. No racing pigeons. Ended up with a pair of silver starlings a fancy breed! as well as the tumblers I had arranged to collect. Spent all yesterday afternoon adapting my loft for the new additions. When you think about it, I stuck to my promise, I didn't buy any racers haha!

  15. My yearlings had one 10 mile toss to blow away the cobwebs but the weather turned so they got no more. Our racing has started now and they are too unfit, so going to hammer them in May and just send to the three comeback races. It'll do me, my first season with old birds and only have a few! Slowly slowly catchee monkey Lee

    Paired Up

I'm still waiting for my new tiny stock loft to arrive so I can separate racers from non racers! Until then, they're all packed into my race loft, not enough boxes to go around :-( Lee
  21. where's it gonna be mate?
  22. Same again here. Ordered online on sunday i think it was, and everything came yesterday. Top service. Lee
  23. Sorry yeah, what I meant by self yellow was more like solid yellow, no bars or cheqs. Sort of how a dark cheq is not a black but not very cheqqy!!! This is getting way too complicated for me.
  24. cheers guys. Will definitely put some photos up. These are next years pairings so will have to wait and see. I know the barless mealies aren't actually barless as such, but very dilute or something!!! This is why I've asked because I'm totally stumped as to what to expect. The yellows are a self-yellow cock, and a yellow cheq hen. The cock barless has small black splashes, and the hen is slightly pied. This year the hen barless gave me a barless cock youngster when paired to a white. The youngster flew 200 miles for me this year. thanks again guys Lee
  25. thanks OY, I'll wait and see what comes out!!!! Yours in sport Lee
