  1. Thanks Chris, but my contribution is nothing compared to that of others on here, including yourself. All the best for the new year mate. Lee
  2. Hi folks, I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone on pigeonbasics for a great 2010. I'm new to the sport and everyone has been a great help to me when looking for tips and advice. I have met some great people, received great advice and watched some fantastic threads. This year has seen a decrease in the amount of threads hijacked and ruined thanks to the moderators and it has been a pleasure to log in everyday to see what's going on. The generosity of members on here astounds me when i see how many birds are donated for Help Our Heroes and that just shows what sort of people us pigeon people are!!! So thank you to everyone who keep this site going one way or another, and I wish you all the very best for 2011. regards and yours in sport Lee Hammond
  3. I've looked at all the websites but have only bought from Louella. The site was so easy to navigate with photos and pedigrees of every bird and regular updates that they made it easy to select and buy from. The newer site made it a bit more difficult but now I'm back on track. I havent tested the young yet but you didnt ask about whether the purchases were worth it!!! Lee
  4. finally - i didnt accept your bid by PM as was my prerogative given the details in my original post, and i would be grateful if you would either post your opinions OR PM me instead of doing both! i wont have half an argument with you, so that you can choose what people read. As a moderator you should perhaps know better Lee
  5. What? you never had a bid mate. I stated I wouldnt accept bids by PM

  7. in the interests of fairness i have decided to put a 5 minute rule on the bidding. Lee
  8. they are not a nest pair, i have bred from them this year. They are linebred or inbred back to a bird called the king of the faroes. so they are not totally unrelated, but ot too closely related either. Lee
  9. yes mate, the auction is running until sunday night

    Why O Why

i had an email a short while back inviting me to join another site, but i havent even gone onto it, since this site changed and got rid of a number of members who took great pleasure in causing trouble it is in my opinion the best one. I do go onto one other pigeon site but i rarely post. Lee
  13. the original pedigrees will be provided Lee
  14. whereabouts in lancs are you mate please Lee
  15. Dear All, I have my remaining stock birds for sale. Having moved house last year I had to put all my birds to stock without testing them, so decided to breed from them and some new birds this year to get a team together for next year. Having now bred my team for next year I am parting with the last ones. They have been kept in as prisoners for the past year. None of them have been raced nor have their youngsters yet. They all have pedigrees, and all come from Louella. I am selling them all as individuals not paired. Any that I dont sell I will try to break to the loft. I am looking for the best offer on each bird over £20 by 6pm on Sunday 31st October. Payment to be received 7 days after that, the birds collected 7 days after that. If not, the birds will be offered to the next best offer and so on. All offers to be made on the thread, not by PM please. I am based in Burnley in Lancashire. Bird 1 Faroes British Distance Cock 09 - Barless Mealy/Black Splash Bird 2 Faroes British Distance Hen 09 - Black White flight Bird 3 Janssen V D Bossche Cock 10 - Chocolate Pied Bird 4 Janssen V D Bossche Hen 10 - Chocolate Bird 5 Kirkpatrick Cock 10 - Yellow Cheq Bird 6 Kirkpatrick Hen 10 - Yellow Cheq Bird 7 Jan Aarden Cock 09 - Mealy Pied Bird 8 Kirkpatrick Cock 10 - Yellow Cheq Pied Bird 9 Ebony Aarden Hen 09 - Barless Mealy White flight All birds except bird 7 have been bred from this year, but no guarantees are given. 17. Ive not had chance to race mine yet Jimmy due to moving house, but I've bred off them for next year. Will keep you posted! Lee
  18. Hi Sarah thanks for taking the time to rescue the lost racing pigeon. It doesnt sounfd like the bird was too badly injured and alot of the time they make a remarkable recovery. Some have even got home after receiving huge gaping wounds. They are very resiliant birds. Most fanciers I know help their birds recover as much as possible in the hope that they can race again, so you might just find that the one you helped rescue goes on to win a race next year - you never know. Thanks again. Lee

Karl can you PM me mate, Ive sent a few PM's but no response cheers Lee
  21. thanks to everyone that enquired about the birds. Due to the large number of enquiries, I have sold the birds on a first come first served basis. This means that the birds are going as follows: Pair 1 - Big Pete has first refusal once he sees them Pairs 2 & 3 - Greengrass Pair 4 - Ronnie1 subject to payment the birds have now gone. I do however keep the messages I have received and if there are any problems or someone changes their mind I will go down the list and contact the next in line to see if they are still interested. Thanks again
  22. Due to the fact I was starting up last year, then we moved house, all the new birds I had bought were kept in as stock at the new house. I have now almost finished breeding my team off them for next year, to race as yearlings, and because I only have a small loft, I need to make room. I appreciate this wasnt the best way to start my racing career but needs must! to start with I have 4 pairs I need to move on: Pair 1 - white logans, both 2007 birds, bought from a member on here, no pedigrees £30 the pair Pair 2 - Marcel Braakhuis, dark cheqs, 2009, also from a member on here, pedigrees supplied £40 Pair 3 - same as pair 2 above Pair 4 - red/red pied Corbett Bushaerts, 2009, from Louella, peds supplied £40 the price reflects the fact these birds are unraced and untested, but have bred me my team for next year. Responses by PM only please. I will try to get some photos on aswell. Lee

    Thanks

No mate i didnt notice, althought to be honest there were no outward signs that anything was amiss. I looked her over but didnt see any feathers missing, and didnt see anything wrong when she took off. How much is she missing?
