  2. I have my nest boxes already, 3 sets of 3 at 30.5". It would mean a 7.5 ft long section for stock so I was thinking about putting it across one end to make the section narrower. More like 7.5 x 5 which would leave me 19ft x 9 to use for the remaining sections.
  3. Im planning to fly widowhood, I think, it will be my first year so have a lot to learn, feel free to point me in the right direction. Al.
  4. New loft should go up next week. It will be 24 x 9 ft. I am planning a 3 ft corridor along the front. Any advice on section sizes would be appreciated as I am gooing to fit it out myself. Al.
  5. This has been written by Phoebe's parents. I met them at an auction for Phoebe on Saturday night. It was a great night and over £7000 was raised. They, and the rest of their family were so very appreciative of everything the members of Pigeon basics have done. I have also come by a signed Rangers top with certificate that I will put up for auction once I get a picture or two. We have been home now for almost two weeks. Phoebe is really enjoying been home - as we all are. Phoebe has lots of energy, her limp has gone and she seems to want to run everywhere. Phoebe is learning that Mummy can't give her all the attention, so we had fun for the first few days with Jude, Laina and Phoebe all trying to get Mummy and Daddy's attention. Phoebe's hair is starting to come back in and she now also has lovely thick eyelashes again. On Mon 24th we go to Glasgow for Phoebe to have an MRI scan and for bone marrow samples to be taken, this will indicate if the disease is in remission. Before we left we heard that Phoebe would not be recieving the anti-body as part of her treatment. We now have a important decision to make as there as so many things to take into consideration. Please pray for guidance and peace as to what we should do. The final part of her treatment will begin shortly and will last for six months, it is called differentiation treatment which ages any immature disease cells, making them easier for the body to deal with and is given to lengthen the disease free period. We would like to thank everyone so much for all the support we have received during the last seven months. We are overwhelmed by the kindness of so many and wish we could thank each one individually. Throughout this time what people have given - both financially and practically- for us as a family has been quite humbling. We have also felt so upheld and supported both by the messages we have received and also by prayer throughout, we felt this most at our lowest points when prayer was all we had to lean heavily on. We give thanks to God for keeping our precious Phoebe safe throughout and being together as a family again.
  6. Jimmy, your spot on as usuall. A great side of the sport for everyone to see. And very best of luck to young anto!!! Al.
  7. I have just recieved anto's payment. He has very kindly paid £200 which was £50 over the winning bid of £150. That is really generous Anto, thank you very much indeed. Al.
  8. My new loft roof will be sheeted with sterling board with onduline on top. I think this will insulate the roof to a certain extent and prevent it heating up to much in the summer. Its a local shed builder thats building it for me to my design. 24 x 9 with a 3'corridor. A 1' strip allong top at the back with wire mesh A 1' strip along the front at the bottom with wire mesh and a 2'6" strip along the front from about 4' to 6.5' high along the front also that I can also put up perspex shutters on in poor weather.
  9. I had corrugated iron but had to insulate becuse of the condensation freezing then thawing. I think I also lacked proper ventilation which may have added to the problem. Not a problem now though as the lofts been demolished, pigeons are in the summer house (much to the wifes disgust) and the new lofts here at the end of next week. Cant wait to get it up!!!!!!!!!
  10. Thanks every body. Richard. I should have said thanks to you too for such a great platform for raising the money. It would never have happened if it wasnt for pigeon basics. Al.
