This has been written by Phoebe's parents. I met them at an auction for Phoebe on Saturday night. It was a great night and over £7000 was raised. They, and the rest of their family were so very appreciative of everything the members of Pigeon basics have done. I have also come by a signed Rangers top with certificate that I will put up for auction once I get a picture or two.
We have been home now for almost two weeks. Phoebe is really enjoying been home - as we all are. Phoebe has lots of energy, her limp has gone and she seems to want to run everywhere. Phoebe is learning that Mummy can't give her all the attention, so we had fun for the first few days with Jude, Laina and Phoebe all trying to get Mummy and Daddy's attention. Phoebe's hair is starting to come back in and she now also has lovely thick eyelashes again.
On Mon 24th we go to Glasgow for Phoebe to have an MRI scan and for bone marrow samples to be taken, this will indicate if the disease is in remission. Before we left we heard that Phoebe would not be recieving the anti-body as part of her treatment. We now have a important decision to make as there as so many things to take into consideration. Please pray for guidance and peace as to what we should do.
The final part of her treatment will begin shortly and will last for six months, it is called differentiation treatment which ages any immature disease cells, making them easier for the body to deal with and is given to lengthen the disease free period.
We would like to thank everyone so much for all the support we have received during the last seven months. We are overwhelmed by the kindness of so many and wish we could thank each one individually. Throughout this time what people have given - both financially and practically- for us as a family has been quite humbling. We have also felt so upheld and supported both by the messages we have received and also by prayer throughout, we felt this most at our lowest points when prayer was all we had to lean heavily on.
We give thanks to God for keeping our precious Phoebe safe throughout and being together as a family again.
