  2. Hi Hogni, hope alls well up there. Is it true the last time this volcanoe erupted it did so for over a year, back in the 1800s? Al.
  3. Dont know about the wether over your way but looking clear for most of Scotland just south and east of me with light westerly wind Hope you have a good one.
  4. Very, very sad indeed, Rest in Piece.
  5. He's actually a yearling Frank. Wil see how he does once he's all feathered up again. Plenty room in the race loft now for him anyway so he's not taking a perch another doo could have. Always surprises me how hardy these birds are.
  6. Looks like they could swim the channel!!
  7. This doo is healing fine, I forgot he was loose with the other cocks when they went out tonight and he flew for a full hour with them. Not looking the prettiest but he seems fine.

Youve been at it a lot, LOT, longer than me Frank (you being 65) and I'm sure your right. Just a bit bleedin awwkward being short of cocks again.

    Hens

Interesting, I was just wondering if hens, being a wee bit smaller, were more agile and maybe better able to avoid percy?

    Hens

Was with the birds in the loft today and realised its mostly cocks that have suffered the odd loss in training and getting back injured. Only 1 hen injured but 2 cocks and another 2 missing. Also ended up with hens doing better than cocks last year. Has anyone else experienced the same or is it just coincidence? Al.
  12. Thats what I was hoping to hear, will have a plan if it happens again. Thanks chaps. Al.
  13. Happy birthday Frank, hope your having a wee party ;D, 65??
  14. I know pal but I had one chase a doo into a window the other night, the doo died outright and percy was sitting on it in the neighbours garden. Also had one hit a roller years ago, was told they clench their front tallons to punch the doo and their back tallon rips the doo open. The roller landed in the garden with its neck ripped open. I binned it so dont know if it might have come back. Al.
  15. Welcome to basics George, hows the big doos?
  16. Couldnt do anything with the doo the other night Frank as it was in a neibhours garden and they have a cat so kind of limited. Just trying to plan ahead incase it happens again. Had the birds out this morning and all was quiet, had the ybs too which was good. Starting to fly well.
  17. Just wondering if I chased it of the doo would it come back the next day or so to let me get a closer look at it , I know sparrow hawks return to their kill but didnt think it was the same with percy
  18. Has anybody experienced a peregrine return to a kill they have been chased of?
  19. west sou west
  20. Congratulations Stu, always a big relief when everyones well. I will toast the wee one with my wee dram . Al
  21. Thanks lads. I know I'm probably no worse of than most but its just a bit sickening the now as they seem to be dropping like flies. I thought I was going to have a reasonable team of yearlings and a few 2 year olds to start the season but numbers are dwindling. Its a pity the doo fell in the neighbours garden or I could have probably made use of the carcass.
  22. Lost a Yb last night when a peregrine scattered them then tonight a cracking cock bred by Jimmy Bambling got swooped on and flew straight into a neighbours window. Getting a bit fed up I'm afraid.
