  1. Horrendous, I remember the feeling from a few years ago.

Exactly my thoughts I'm afraid Brian. Its hard enough but these coloured ones just seem to be a magnet for percy.
  3. All ready and cant wait to get going. Cocks and hens all homed to new loft, both doing just over an hour around the loft, cocks twice a day, and trapping great. Not going to go overboard with training this year, few from 8 mile then few from 20 mile and that will do them. Think I would rather give them a chance in race basket rather than the training basket.
  4. Certainly hope to Steve, which will be blue or cheqs but also got a drk whiteflight that I quite fancy but just curious about others opinions. Only gone to an OLR once before.
  5. Ryan think you may be right, about getting knocked of. Just had a good blether with Stuart and he mentioned the same. hes not the boldest in the loft. Ive plenty room to sort them out since moving the race birds to the new loft.
  6. When choosing what to send are there any colours you would avoid sending?
  7. all crackers John but I really like that hen
  8. The sire if my club winner has missed 3 rounds, trimmed his feathers after throwing the last nest out but empty eggs again. Will trim the hen {should have done it already) but any other ideas. got plenty from him last year. Hes only 3 years old.

Aye, and when you beat me you can breed me some 😀
  10. Thats the cocks all homed now and coming back into loft pretty well. Really gutted though as Ive lost a three year old that flew steadily for two season. Hawks been about and got another with tall feathers missing. One benefit of tge new loft is its more private and i can pick away at these problems!

    whats the blue pied Brian?
  13. Have you many of the unrung blue cock Chris? its same way bred as a doo that was 4th club for me and one that was 3rd club for George in Uddingston club.
  14. Agreed, need to spend a bit of time watching them, I havent lost one this year (Kiss of death?). Spent a wee bit of time when i paired them up. Just opening up a box at a time, let them in and out. Rotate round the section untill theyre all in and out no probs then 2 at a time, 3 at a time etc. Eventually all doing fine. Sounds like bit of hassle but I just id it every time I was passing the loft. Been prety much trouble free and thats all new pairings too.
  15. Spot on Vincent! And pic of dark white flight doesn't do it justice!
  16. Got my cards from the club today. Have to say I was fair chuffed
  17. John popped up for a wee visit yesterday and left me with 3 wee crackers! Many thanks indeed John, all settled, feeding and drinking. Was a great wee blether and thoroughly enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the doos!
  18. Doos finally in still some work top do but a great relief to get them moved
  19. Thanks Davie. I will try some smoke bombs and see how it does. Tgats one of tge reasons for the wooden front, so i can tweak things if and wgen i need to.
  20. Will see how it goes. Its got the anticondesation covering but will keep an eye on it.
  21. Cladding arrived last week so got roof and gables sheeted. They never sent enough fastenings so still have the back to do. Got doors sorted and windows in too. Started fitting out inside in the mean time. Ive 4" all ang the back and front just under the roof but have brought a ply panel in about 3' that will have fold down flaps to shut of the vent. the front will also have flaps to shut. Will still have the profile in the roof sheets even with things closed down. trying to cover the bases and I can add low level vents if required.
