  1. Hi Stuart - Where is the proposed venue, may have missed it somewhere!
  2. What happens when you are starting up and all your birds are from another loft or lofts - that would make it a bit more difficult.
  3. You can show your appreciation by supporting his forthcoming sale up in Scotland this type of sportsmanship deserves it :)
  4. I thought you were becoming like the "Big Guys" £5.00 for the pedigree ;D ;D ;D
  5. Nice to see that with all the discontent in pigeon racing the true fancier stands out - one of the best results of the season :)
  6. Did this auction ever reach a conclusion or are these late-breds going to be yearlings before they are re-housed :) ;D
  7. I used to use an engineering oil absorber much cheaper than the recommend pigeon absorbers ,going to try Hemcore and see what it is like.

I think it is very ungracious to suggest there are no good birds in the West there are a lot of underlying factors. The West side of the country is mountainous and comes with all kinds of up and down draughts on the route home not to mention our arch enemy "Percy". The East side is reasonably flat and as the late "Jack Adams" stated they follow the tram lines. Like it or lump it the opposite sides of the country offer two completely different types of racing.
  9. The unfortunate thing about pigeon racing is that fancies change and what was todays flavour is tomorrows reject, along comes a fancier with some great results and everyone is climbing over each other to get them and probably paying inflated prices. I think it is a bit ingracious to say that all foreign rung birds are rubbish, they may well fly for the owner but never perform for you. In a few years down the line "timbarra" will also change as birds go out of fashion, Louella is the classic example they upgrade their stock all the time so they are one step ahead. It all comes down to the question how much are you preparred to pay, as someone has previously quoted " The best birds are usually gifts", you can buy a fanciers birds but you can't buy the fancier once you buy it (If you can afford it) it's then up to you.
  10. Tammy_1 has all us old yins dead and buried before we get started I think the post has just shown a classic case of agism which is now against the law so you are now a comdemmed criminal in front of witnesses. The old ones are living a lot longer and the young ones are popping their clogs much earlier. ;) ;)
  11. Mobile phone masts the b-----s seem to be everywhere if humans are complaining about them and having them removed because of one thing or another then what will they do to a young pigeon that is just developing. Nothing will ever be done as there is too much money involved. Is there not a US listening station outside Harrogate could well be a problem God knows what is being unleashed into the atmosphere we are not allowed near it what about the birds that fly over it.
  12. You missed out the "H" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ::B
  13. You should have checked the NFC web page all the clocking stations are there, don't know where you are from but I am sure there would have been one to suit
  14. It takes an excellent fancier to see the the potential in an unrung bird iv'e never seen it so couldn't possibly comment but the guy has promised a payment more than a lot of others have done.
  15. Only one Craig Brewster and two Kenny Millars
  16. That pigeon should be retired ;D ;D ;D
  17. Scotsmen are all over the world - my old English mate used to say "don't matter what stone you turn over a Scotsman pops up" ;D ;D ;D

Get down to your local industrial estates knock on doors letters sometimes find there way to the dustbin the personal approach sometimes works. Please don't go with a hoodie or a tracksuit look the part, take it from an ex apprentice whose trade took him half way around the world. :)

  22. This subject has already grown arms and legs all because of speculation. I believe there has been a lot of discontent with some of the organisations so much so Scottish clubs and feds are joining the RPRA. I stand to be corrected, but what does it say for the sport in Scotland when the senior associations are living in never never land. The club is only as strong as the members what happens if there are none. :'( :'(
  23. Check out www.redroselofts.com and click starter lofts it is the same type used in chatrace many variations must be well liked in the states

  25. An unrung late bred went for £10.00 on another site, text - too good to put down & pedigree supplied. The late C.Ball had a great breeder - The unrung blue. It's in the pedigree of one of mine You pay your money and take a chance
