  1. Any updates on the syndicate
  2. Best regards to Billy for a speedy recovery
  3. Not too sure about using the sun as a lot of our race days are cloudy and wet There is the exceptional days that the sun shines but the birds would have to have great powers of mental recovery - that is remembering what the sun looked like. What about these birds that have been bred with literary no beak and can't feed their young, verging cruelty if you ask me
  4. Must agree with Bilco hawks are a problem It seems they are being promoted throughout the country at the expense of our local songsters , some areas worse than others. It is not so many years ago that you could walk your dog to the "Dawn Chorus" of the birds, now you hardly hear a thing, their bones are well scattered. The way these birds are being "populated" all over the place is in itself not natural and nature itself will level it off I HOPE
  5. Check out the bargain for Jimmy's birds in the auction
  6. Bring back the railways 8) 8) 8) :
  7. My Bull Terrier absolutely adores cats - Preferably between two slices of toast ;D ;D ;D
  8. Saw on the tele this morning a year ago + wheat was £70/ton this month it was up to £188/ton. Farmers are to forgo other crops to plant 40% more wheat this year.
  9. Maybe even get his own tv slot or on one of Matt's shows
  10. I have noticed that the one loft races are also asking for pedigrees so at the end of season sale "They sell better"
  11. If it wasn't for the money a lot of us would not doing the job we do at the end of the day "money talks." The RPRA job will be well paid so it may well be "Jobs for the boys" can't have someone in the job that knows what they are talking about after all as Chrissy says it all about PR and a admin man instead of a pigeon man would seem to be the order of the day : : : Maybe I am a sceptic
  12. Just put all the dissenters through the shredder ;D ;D ;D
  13. Nice to see that you can couint on friends in a crisis - best regards to Billy for a speedy recovery - NICE ONE DOVEScot
  14. I have no problem with garlic or honey - I use one from Holland & Barrett and the birds are fine. Maybe the honey will remove some of the acidity from the lemon. On a lighter note if the birds liven up after the lemon maybe they are looking for the "Loo" the most innocuous of things can cause problems, but like all things "everything in moderation"
  15. Not too sure about the lemon it might tend to scour your birds - only a thought
  16. I don't profess to know a thing about eye sign but I do know if I go to the opticians for an eye check by looking at the eye he/she can tell as to your state of health and if there is anything sinister lurking about underneath it maybe the eye is the gateway to inner health, who knows It is never right to dismiss anything out of hand there is good in most things and gives an option to look at things in a different light. It's the diversity of pigeons that makes the subject so exciting if we were all the same or thought the same it would be pointless racing the game would be fighting for second place as we would all be "winners".
  17. Very nice touch jimmy - worth winning - Best of luck to all contestants
  18. Is it not true that the confusion has arisen by the fact an offer was accepted after the 4pm cut off time it may well have been a genuine mistake and I don't think the members are questioning anyones honesty. The problem was the tie up between pm & online offers, as others have indicated maybe it should be one or the other.
  19. Just didn't realise how big an increase there was on pigeon food bought 2 bags ordinary pigeon mix from the local pet shop used to be £16.90 /2 now £25.98 for the same product. Will now have to go to some of the bigger suppliers, is there any wholesalers in the Glasgow area. I like to support the local shop but will have to look at cutting out the middleman.
  20. Fair Play

    future

Right to the end (I hope) but may have to "Cut the cloth to suit my needs"
  21. Sorry meant to ask what would be the reason for your choice - I have my own ideas but never too proud or too old to learn
  22. Just a question to see what other fanciers think - I have just modified one of my loft sections and now the the 64K question would you 1.Put the cocks in first 2.Put the hens in first 3.Put both in together 4.Put them all in the section together and let them pick their own mates given that these birds will be the birds that will be bred to fly the distance in a couple of years time :-/ :-/ :-/
  23. Andy Galley on Pigeon Chat is selling two cocks from the exact same lines may be the man to talk to regarding hens
  24. Aye - but remember when you get it invariably it gets ripped off - OUCH ;D ;D :'(
  25. Homer 49 You are probably right about Schaerlaeckens read about that before but it's not very often he has come up against "canny" Scots
