  1. Hi has he set any prices yet look like pigeons for the distance
  2. Cracking loft somebody will be happy - wish it were me, can you please give a bit more info on the birds. Thanks
  3. Thanks for that Jeremy just shows how hard a bird will try to get home and yesterdays weather did not do any favours to anyone avian or otherwise
  4. How are the returns with the latecomers have any more filtered back. I don't know what it is like down South today up here in the North it is sweltering not a breath of wind in our area and yesterday you would have needed webbed feet to get around. Hope some more of the other birds make it.
  5. Ed, it is very simple, a length of wood 5/8" X 5" x 10" long set the hinge off centre on the length so that the longer is outside the loft if any weight heavier than the pigeon hits it,it drops down closing the hole. I cut the wire and fitted plastic round the edges, hinge screwed onto frame trial and error to get the correct balance so simple it's not true and the best bit only costs a hinge.
  6. Where's JAWS when you are looking for him - Cruelty is man's greatest asset.
  7. Years ago I flew with an open loft with just a piece of wood with an offset hinge (hinge the only cost) so if anything too heavy or too fast it would drop down sealing off the entrance then would drop back down allowing them in and out again the birds loved it and never had an intruder and as I was working shifts it was great.
  8. I think you could well be surprised by the number of fanciers that feed pellets.
  9. It tells you in the magazine that the web site is the same as the RPRA. Page 3 BHW & RPRA email contacts bottom line
  10. There is an article in the BHW last week about the feeding of pellets by the flying vet Dr Colin Walker
  11. I disagree with any member being told to "Be Quiet" what an advert for the sport.I know rules are rules but there are better ways of carrying them out without being "Dicatorial" Maybe someone has shares in Amtrak,is it not true there are others in opposition at a cheaper rate. All you Welsh should move up North of the Border only costs you a tenner.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. One loft races have been a great idea from the fact that fanciers get an honest chance to race against each other and the race conducted by Kenny has been highly successful but while we can all sit back and wait and watch he has been landed with a ton of bricks on his lap. I think as has been said it is now important to find out where the virus came from I have read it is a virus affecting pigs, are there any piggeries close by or on the ground where the lofts are built, a soil sample may be worthwhile. I hope Kenny gets to the bottom of the problem, him today us tomorrow!
  13. Manchester police and City Council have admitted they cocked up big time never expected the huge crowds that turned up. Back to the thread never over till the final whistle but feel W.S. has been a bit too negative done well to hold things together but you are never remembered for the things you lose.
  14. Glasgow took the best option - held over until Sunday supposed to be a better day- today at Alexandria chill in the air wind veering in from the East
  15. Glasgow were also at Otterburn Sat 3rd May but held back marking until Sunday for a Monday race, don't know how the returns are but what a contast in a couple of days.
  16. Glasgow were also at Otterburn but on Sat. 3rd maythey held back marking until Sunday for a Monday race, don't know how the returns are but what a contast in a couple of days.
  17. Transfer of birds - owner deceased - Next of kin to sign or club sec with club stamp only reason I know - in the same position and that is the directive of RPRA I take it SHU would be the same. nice offer
  18. Tom.Pennycott@sac.co.uk
  19. As far as I know he has the "Full" package he was going to read up on it some more to see if he could get all results printed. He is at the moment the only one with ETS so clock setters are still finding their way and as I said it was only a dummy run as he used a T3 to clock in.
  20. One of our members has Unikon, last night they were doing a dummy run and all information came up except the velocity does the system give you automatic velocities or do you have to go down another route

Another item on TV was that Buzzard nos are dropping and a plan is being put into action to set up new breeding programme Maybe the Buzzard and Peregrine will fight it out for areas and leave the pigeons alone as I don't see the Buzzard as such a big threat.
  22. I bought a pair of Imbrechts, at the begining they were wild but have calmed down and doing nicely. It is like most things in life you pay your money and take a chance. I like the fancier who says any problems and I will replace .
  23. Jeff - you choose the group Louella choose the family, still a good buy
  24. The first thing with ETS is the cost especially with all the add-ons. Secondly with the allowance of the extra pads you could effectively have half a dozen pads(clocks) timing in from the one race.
