  1. http://www.the-gazette.co.uk/news/15023075.Wild_birds_at_Paisley_mini_zoo_culled_to_curb_spread_of_Newcastle_disease/ An outbreak has led to a cull of many of the birds in the nature park.
  2. Just before we locked our birds down for the winter a hawk laid siege to the loft and every time the birds tried to land it hit them, eventually it was dark and the birds landed on the house roof and the hawk hit them on the slates and eventually got one, we couldn't do anything about it and we locked them down, I think this will be the same hawk, roll on the spring.
  3. 100% Sparrow hawk remains behind our loft it must have happened on Friday, our birds are locked down so a streeter has bit the dust.
  4. Congratulations Gareth, all the best for the future.

    2017

Wishing everyone a good one, and we wish you all success for 2017, all the best. :
  6. Not for me, but well done to all involved, impressive prize and pool money.
  7. My son's pond in the back door.
  8. Here is a write up about him, if this helps. http://www.elimarpigeons.com/ArticleA/VicRobinsonbyLiamOComain.htm
  9. I looked at an old post on PB from 2012 and Alf said he thought he might have a copy of the book?
  10. We never received any notification of the AGM and we spoke about it with Linda at the SHU show, she said that some of the emails got blocked as spam by the email provider or something like that, but that's no excuse for all members not getting their balance sheet, apparently there is a rule that a meeting can't be called out of order because members don't receive notification, this can open the door for abuse, I'm not saying that it was intentional, but I think too many didn't get the paperwork, which is a poor show all round.
  11. Great to see the report.
  12. Lol no it was the rough measurements from Google maps.
  13. la Ferte Bernard 572ish and Reims 576ish to me what's your point caller?
  14. La Ferte Bernard is on the same line as Alencon, but about 15 miles south, so I would stick with Alencon as we have had good racing from there, although I have nothing against it. And Falaise wasn't a bad race point either if I remember, I do see the advantage of holding an east line as the channel is shorter and the measurements are fairer.
  15. Yes, we want good steady fair tough racing, and good returns, but even if conditions are perfect and we get a good steady race the returns are down to the birds being up to the job in the first place. Making the races easier to get better returns of sub standard birds is a step backwards, 500 plus miles is tough even if all conditions are perfect, and a large percentage of birds still won't make it. That's what make us admire the birds and fanciers that succeed at it.
  16. The Gold Cup and other races 500 miles plus aren't meant to be easy, the birds that score in these races are held in the highest esteem by all of Scotland and the rest of the world, condition, health, fitness, motivation stamina, valour a great heart and mind and a good manager are what it takes to achieve this. This race is for dreamers and we all dare to dream, 550 miles into the central belt for me, roll on next season.
  17. Yes, that makes sense, but we have had good racing from Alencon.
  18. What is wrong with Alencon?
  19. Top flyers, congratulations, guys.
  20. Our 2nd pigeon from Roye had a very respectable velocity and didn't make the result due to the 1/10 rule so without the 1/5 rule in the longest race would make it even harder for a bird who has flown all that distance and not got any recognition, especially here were birdage is low in most distance races.
  21. Murray is in the best form of his life, he can beat anyone when he is in the right frame of mind, well done.
  22. Hi Mark, Yes I am disappointed the pictures weren't published, this is were the credit for all the hard work recognized and we do like everyone else like to see our performances recognized in the press, but I think we already get plenty recognition for our performances over the years, we get enough congratulations from the top fanciers in the country to confirm that.
  23. We don't have the copy now but it said the pictures will be in the year book indicating that they won't be published in the BHW, so it's nothing to do with space or timings, unless someone can shed a more accurate light on it?
  24. What's your thoughts on the topic?
  25. It is still the premier club to us. This is were success is measured competing against the best in the land.
