  2. Have only had the chance to race young birds to let them go through the trap door on landing deck. Will be using a sputnik for next year.

  5. Hi All, I have a loft for sale that I bought in April when I started up with pigeons. Reason for the sale is because I need a bigger loft. The loft is 9' x 7' with two sections: One is 5' and the other is 4'. The loft is in immaculate condition and is basically brand new. It has a landing deck and exit flaps in each section. The front is dowelled with sliding doors. I am putting it up for sale at £600. Thanks David
  6. Hi Guys. Does anyone have any links to websites that sell lofts? Thanks David
  7. Thanks for the info guys. David
  8. Hi Peeps, Can someone please tell me the info about the Telford show. I cant seem to find anything in the BHW about it. Where is is and when and time. Thanks David
  9. Good news guys, we managed to coax the pigeon down the chimney by shining the light up through the vent and calling for it. I stuck my hand up the vent and it basically walked onto my hand and I was able to pull it out. We could here it above our heads and it made its own way down. Thank you to everyone for their support and advice. One thing is for sure. I am not letting them out until the chimneys are capped. However long that might take. Thanks again.
  10. anybody???
  11. Hi Guys, hopefully there is a builder on here somewhere who can give me some advice. We removed two bricks from the chimney breast inside the house loft and apparently the chimney splits in two tunnels because their used to be fireplaces in the two bedrooms. The fireplace in the livingroom is bricked up but the vent infront was removed and the inside of the fireplace is stacked with loose bricks and rubbish. I got the first pigeon out through the vent in the one bedroom after pushing it down with wire. It could not have fallen further than the vent as it was blocked up. Now I need to know if the other pigeon could have fallen to the other rooms vent area or down to the livingroom fireplace. I stuck my camera up the holes and you can see that the chimney slopes of at places but there is no sign of the other pigeon. Could one be sitting on a ledge somewhere as I have no idea how a chimney looks on the inside. Also how do two pigeons fall down the same hole? Pigeon racing is one thing but letting an animal suffer is not my cup of tea and it is making me think wether I am cut out for this sport. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks David
  12. Hi Peeps, Well I called the firebrigade and they basically told me to leave the birds where they are as it was not safe to get on top of the roof. We have almost totalled my neighbours house trying to find the pigeons in the chimney and I have been able to retrieve one. The other one is still missing but I really hope we find it. Thanks for all the help. David
  13. Thanks guys, will try anything at the moment. Will let you know if I get them out. David

  15. Hi Peeps, I am quite fairly new to the sport and was hoping to be moving sometime soon. The question is will I be able to break my pigeons to my new loft and house? Also when do you guys start breeding for next year? I was thinking beginning JAn. Regards David

  17. I have stopped ordering with them after they basically called me a liar and the manager did not even sound concerned that as a client I was unhappy. They are expensive and unreliable.
  18. I have had some excellent birds off Spencer and like he said, as a novice he helped me out. Got a young one directly off his champion. I think you will do well mate.
  19. I used to have a pair of meat pigeons. They were almost the size of chickens and when they flew they looked like Osteriches taking off. ;D ;D
  20. Yes, thank you very much. He helped me too. A credit to the sport.

    Nest Boxes

Hi Peeps, Does anybody know where I can get two nestboxes from. I was hoping there would be someone local to me in Morden, surrey who would be willing to sell me two nest boxes. Or even tell me if there is a place where I can buy some. Thanks David
  24. Hey Peeps. Racing has sort of come to a sticky end for me. Pigeons all have young bird sickness and has me totally wrecked. Two weeks of no racing and then dont even know if pigeons will be ready to race again this year. Sorry just has to vent. :'( :-/ :'( :-/
