Hi Rose, I have actually been to a club in Wimbledon when they did their basketing and afterwards I chatted to some of the chaps they were really friendly. They suggested I go to the other club in Mitcham but I really liked the club I went to in Wimbledon. I even met the secretary so I think I might join them. I have tho already joined the RPRA. Hi Ali, The thing is it was in my garden when I bought the house so no idea how old it is. It is quite sturdy still but the windows all seem to be coming loose but then again you probably would not want to keep the glass windows if you are building a loft. I live in Morden, South London. I have booked a pick up through the coucil for Friday morning so if you dont want it, its no problem. I was told to advertise it first before throwing it out. Best Regards David

Hi Ali, I am chucking out my 8x6 shed this friday to make way for my Loft. I must admit tho it has seen better days although it is still standing. lol

I think the only problem you could get from the is if your building is "over" the size limit. I will keep my garden clean and hope for the best. I have already told one of my neighbours I am getting a loft and pigeons and he thought that was cool. So heres hoping the other neighbours feel the same.

Hi Has anybody ever had any problems from their neighbours about their pigeons. Neighbours being worried about disease, vermin and mess. Just thought of this problem.

Hi Peeps, I cant seem to decide on what the front of my loft should look like and I keep changing my mind. I have ordered my loft from a manufacturer and keep on phoning to change things. Can someone maybe give me some guide lines of what there should be in the front section. Thank you

I was hoping to get 5 Busshaerts and 5 Janssens so hopefully something will come of them. Basically if they dont fly well they will still be welcome in my loft. My cats are always hungry. lol, just kidding, could never do it.

Thanks Rose, I have emailed both to see what they can do for me. I cant believe it is such a struggle to find a club and its even harder for me to find a place that sells pigeon food. :o

Thanks guys and gals for all your advice. I know with you around I will get through this exciting/confusing period. I have just bought the basic stuff from "Everything for pets" and it cost me a small fortune. Just bought drinking troughs and some mulitvits and some perches as my loft will come withouot them.

Where do I get rings from? :

I ordered from Phoenix Timber in Canning Town. Its going to be 9' x 6' with two sections and a landing deck, Nothing that extraordinary. Thought I would start small and go from there. Not ordered the birds yet. Gonna wait until I get the loft and take a drive down to Louella and get to choose my birds (hopefully). Spoke to one of them yesterday to find out loads of info. I know I am rushing into this but its been a long time coming and I cant wait anymore.

Yeah Steve, could not wait anymore. I am really excited like a little child going to Disney Land or something. I know I was gonna wait until next year but once I got started in all the planning and phoning around to find out prices for lofts it got too much for me and I just ordered the loft. Rose, thanks for that, I will try and contact them. I was hoping to get ybs from Louella, some Busschaerts and some Janssens. Its the only place I found on the net that sells birds. I used to be good searching for things on the internet but these days I find diddley squat! Thanks

Hi Again Peeps, Sorry for all the questions recently but with my loft delivery imminent I think I need to get everything ready. First of all I need to get feeding for the pigeons. What does ev1 recommend and where can I go to get them in London? Also what suplements should I be giving? I have tried to search on the internet but nothing comes up and I am getting frustrated. No worries Pigeon Bird, I think I have my loft I wanna order. Its gonna quite small to start off with. 6' x 9'. With two sections, one is 4' and the other is 5'. Will this be big enough and how many birds do think I could keep in this loft? I was thinking of maybe getting older birds to breed with and not ybs. Anyone agree? Anybody know where I can get good quality pigeons to breed with?

Peeps, I cant wait anymore. I was gonna wait until early next year to buy my loft but I think I will have my loft within the next few weeks. Mad? I know I am but I am really excited about this and cant wait to have my first birds. I am gonna start off slow with maybe about 4 stock birds and build my flock that way. I remember when I was a kid and my first squeaker hatched, it was the most amazing feeling of accomplishment (although the birds do all the work! ;D). I also miss the feeling of pride when you open your loft and all your birds take flight. The sight is just amazing. Ok enough now, gonna see if I can order my loft. Thanks for all the help and will keep you guys updated.
