Thanks Guys, I try and keep away from them and only sit and stare at them through the bars. I look like a peeping tom or something. They are a bit more relaxed that when they first got there. I can now walk up to some and touch them with them flying off. I will probably have to wait until the weather becomes decent before they can go out. Thank tho.

Thanks Spence, I was thinking that but the itch to let them out and see them fly is really getting hard to control. I really cannot wait to open the loft and off they go but at the moment I think that is exactly wot they will do. Go off and never come bak. It would kill me.

Hi Peeps, When would you guys say I should let my pigeons out? I got them in my loft on Saturday at about 6ish pm and the second lot about 5pmish on Sunday. Do you think if I opened the loft today they will be gone? Wot should I do? Thanks David

A new starter I guess as it was many moons ago that I kept pigeons when I was 16. Its is a lovely sport and hobby.

Thanks Sam, I have started putting wire mesh on now. Hopefully I wont have any squirrels tormenting my birds. Yes I will be flying to open door. No place to put a Sputnik or any other trap. Although I do have a landing deck.

Hi You guys are correct. The chequer is a Janssen de klak and the red one is a Staf Van Reet, a grandson of Red Danial.

This is my loft. 9' x 7' and two sections. And also a couple of my pigeons I got yesterday.

Hi Tim... I will be willing to pay upto £40 per bird. I would prefer Janssens but will go with Van Reets and Busschaerts (sp.). I am going down to Louella on Sunday so will be buying most of my birds from them but I thought I would support the peeps around London too. I have joined the Wimbledon club, actually I am waiting to hear from them after the meeting last night.

Well to be more specific, not imminent enough. Why are they taking soooooo long to make my loft???? :'( :'( :'( I really cant wait anymore, what should I do to get my mind off getting pigeons? I am the most impatient person I know. WHERE IS MY LOFT??? :P

Thanks Bruno, I did have a sneaky suspicion that it was to keep the hen from laying more eggs. Another question about eggs and chicks: Is it true that if you take one of the two eggs away the remaining egg will hatch and the baby will be better off being on its own (being fed better by both parents thus getting a better start in life). Sorry one more question: What do you guys do when one chick is smaller than the other?
