Hi All, Does anybody know where I can watch a liberation. I live in Morden, Surrey and would preferably like something close by. I have heard there is one in Woking but dont know where to go. Any info would be much appreciated. Regards David

They get their food when they get back in the loft. Have been taking away the food in the morning hoping for them to be hungry enough to want to come back. Of the ones I bred in January I have none left. I only three Feb youngsters left. Dreading the moment the last two start flying. :-/
-
THanks Peter. At the moment I have a Sputnik on the front of the loft with the three remaining youngsters. One of them is already tearing the skies apart although the other two are still not flying. I have another 6 in the nests and three pairs on eggs. THanks for the offer of youngsters but I think I should be ok once I get the pigeons to stay home. :-/ Last year I had no problem bringing up 4 youngsters, they stayed and are now part of my yearling team. This year....totally different.

Hi I must be doing something wrong as I am losing youngsters faster than I can breed them. They are literally taking off and never come back. One had even been flying for about two weeks and then on Wednesday it just never came back. At the moment I have lost a total of 4. Can someone please advise? Regards David

Just a quick question. I was wondering if it would make any difference to my racing if my birds were not tame? At the moment they take off when someone comes close. Regards David

"The Magpie is a slim, shallow-bodied bird that carries itself very vertically. They breed well and are reliable feeders of their young. The beak is long and flesh-colored. The finest Magpies are often the Blacks, but they appear in other colors including Yellow, Blue, Dun, and Silver. In England, the Magpie was often called the "Queen of the Pigeons." Got this info on the net. ;D

Good news, the pigeon came back today. He was very tattered and had soot all over him. He was also very light and tired. The only thing I can think of is that he must have crawled his way out. Either way I was ecstatic to see him. ;D ;D

lol, pigeons really are a headache. Only started last year but already I feel 20yrs older.

If the fireplace is boarded up there is no way for the pigeon to get out. I have to face the obvious and write the bird off. Have been round to my neighbours and asked if they heard anything but they have not so the chances are very slim for the bird to be rescued. Thanks David

To be honest, I dont expect to see this pigeon again. I just hope that if he has fallen down a chimney that someone will here him and let me know.
-
So then I guess the bird is a write off? Another one to add to the archive on my pigeon programme. :'(. Just dont like the thought of an animal suffering, leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. Would have been better if I found feathers and I then knew it was dead. Guess I just need to move on and concentrate on the others. Thanks for all the avice peeps. Regards David

I dont think it was a hawk as I have only ever seen one a few months back. The cock was flying everywhere with his hen and all of a sudden it was only the hen. The pigeons always sit on the roof as I cant get them to stay off it. Three houses down the chimneys are open and I know the birds do go there sometimes. Its an old man that lives there and I asked him if he heard anything fall down his chimney but he looked at me as if I was mad. I had two pigeons fall down my neighbours chimney a while back and we got them out and had the nearby chimneys covered up, but these are still open and I am sure he is down there. The thought of leaving the pigeon there is driving me nuts with worry. It makes me feel I am not cut out for this sport. There must be something I can do?
-
hi. Really thinking of leaving the sport. One of my cocks was out flying with his hen and when his hen came down he was gone. The only place i can think he went is down someones chimney and the thought of this poor pigeon down there is disturbing me. How do i just forget this pigeon as a loss. Its driving me bonkers.

Hi guys Can anybody please tell me where buy some pigeon corn in London. My local shop never got a delivery and I wont have enough until their next delivery. It can be anywhere near south london or surrey or even the surrounding areas. Regards David

Hi Just a quick question. I have just realised that I have put a ring on upside down on one of my squeakers. The bird is too old now to remove the ring. Will I still be able to race it or is it now lost to the sport? Regards David
-
At the moment I have not won anything yet being a novice. Its quite frustrating tho as you dont know wether your birds are good but your system is bad or if the birds are bad and your system is good. Just wanted to know how long to try birds for as a novice and dont wanted to be racing birds as geriatrics.

Hi Until what age can you race a pigeon? When do you move them over to the stock loft after racing carreer is over? Thanks David
-
I honestly cant believe some people are suggesting to kill cats when they into someones garden. That is someones pet and a living thing. This sport really is coldhearted!!!!!!!!!!!! Come one people to dont have to kill them or take them to the moors. Have some compassion is this day and age. >

Hi Can I be in the draw too please. Very nice thing to do. Regards David

Hi Guys, Does anybody know how to remove an internet page that keeps on popping up. It says I have to pay a bill for my.....wait for it.....gold sex passport. It even threatens legal action if I dont pay for it. Does not matter how many time you close it down, it always pops up again. Any advice? Thanks David
