found 96MDS1812 Yes 1996 Bird use to belong to Rodham (Newton Aycliffe), all birds sold when he died. Must be some ones escapee stock bird. Pm for contact details Dave

Thats heavy losses Sean. I dont think you have lost them. My opinion: I think someone has been keeping your youngns to breed from as you and i know you have some good birds. I had 50 but now down to 38, not even had any training yet, think i bred chickens this year, they dont want to leave the loft. The other day Les Coopers ybs (40 ) all took off for no reason(not one that could be seen). Anyhow 25 came back the same day, Had 1 or 2 come back by themselves (or someone may have had them in, and released locally) 1 or 2 reported up Chester Le Street area. Looks like the majority are in that sort of area. If anyone comes across his ybs could they let me know on here or by pm and Les will collect, or arrange collection. Anyone got any white logans for sale in county durham /teeside /north east uk. Possibly after a few YBS (upto 4) depending on price. Dont want the hassle of amtrak so would prefer in the North East so could collect. Pm any offers Dave

I phoned up about some white logans (guy had 50 for sale at £10 each in county durham) but all had gone within a couple of hours. Seems like they are in demand everywhere. I only wanted to buy locally and pickup because amtrak arent that good these days. Dave

As per the title. How do i stop them fielding, some of the birds are ok they fly return to the loft, wanting food. But a lot of them go into the field and sit and peck at the grass or mole hills. I have oyster grit in all the time, minerals too. Fresh water (with electrolytes every other day) (cider vinegar once a week) they all have the same food rations, give hemp (with a splash of aniseed oil) to tempt them in(works some times). If i give them any less then they would bre starved. I feel as though they are missing some vital minerals? Any ideas? They all look fit and well and have been wormed and vacinated. Thanks Dave Just put in a lettuce washed and drained with salt today but they were not too bothered by it.

Hi Paulo, we have the same problem, I always know how many YBs i have, but next door they have about 50 ish, the ish bit being what ever goes in might be there for a week or so depending on the weather. The 2 ybs i got off you are just starting to flutter round the lofts, Its been iffy at times to get them out. Yesterday had them all out and about, then whoosh 36 out of the 38 were off ??) Got most back by the end off the day, came in singles and small batches, but still have 8 missing, another 2 have just started coming for a look round so hopefully will get them in tonight. When you start doing well with your YBs hopefully it will pi** off your neighbour even more, he may then ask what you are doing, to do so well. Never to old to change in my opinion, got my dad trying different things and hes 74. Dave
