  5. Thanks to all, I have emailed the companies to get more details and all costs involved. Again Thanks
  6. Wanted to go but have too much to do before next thursday, as i go in for an op. Just about finished a new stock loft, just a couple of nest boxes to put together tomorrow, Aviary finished, and a few other small bits and pieces to get sorted. Hopefully only staying in for one night, but then will probably be in a sling for a while. I have been to the unikon website, but it does not give too much info, so i will probably email and see what other info i can get. Was the NEHU show any good? Dave
  7. Hi All, we had a meeting last night to discuss the possile use of ETS (When allowed) A few things that were raised: Best system to use? only seen unikon advert lately What type of equipment is required for each loft? pad/sensor/clock? how many for each loft? Do you need a master computer for marking night and some sort of electronic scanner? Would the master computer have all club details, member details and distance etc? Any info gladly accepted, or any links to where we can find out more info. I know that Scotland have been using ets for a while, but how do you go about things if some members dont have or cant afford ets, do they still use clocks. Is there an allowance for non ets clockings i.e. 10 seconds to alow for traping and getting the rubber off? We have approx 10-11 members in our club, and basically need to know overall costs for future planning. Cheers Dave If any one has info that they could post to me I will PM my address

I have already got a young cock bird from Andrew, and he looks fine, hopefully i can breed some winners from him. 13. I would have had this Andrew, If i had the space. I now have too many birds. I was given a nice bronze cock (van winkel?) on Sunday, I now have 22 cocks to breed from this year/next year. Looks like I have missed out on a bargain, I will let you know how we do with the young cock bird i bought from you earlier this year. Dave

  15. We always report, return or release if required any lost birds. This year we have only had about 10 stray birds and all returned or released to their owners. We have lost about 25 this year including some older birds and we have had not a single reporting? Did have one missing for a whole year that came back, it was healthy and in good form.(he has never gone missing from training runs this year, will race him again next year) Dave
  16. I make it should be 1451.24 averaged over the 7 races? Have i calculated something wrong?

  20. You will find that it is doing a search, danger time is when they have young. We have about 8 pairs in our area, and they scour the area most days. Attacks only seem to happen when they have young or training the young how to hunt. Our crows tend to chase the hawks ? for some unknown reason. Dave

    Help plz

Hi Sean, just spoke to my dad about your problems. the nearest club to you is obliged to let you join, unless you are a defaulter? i think my dad means if you have been a club member somewhere else and not paid your fees etc. Our club has boundries, and can only take in people who live within the northly, eastly, westly boundries if you lived south then it would be allowable to join. I think I have explained that correctly. Any how if you have no joy you should get in touch with: Mr R Porter, 01740 651256 (durham combine) or North of England Homing Union Mr David Power, Secretary 58 Ennerdale Road Walker Dean Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 4DG Telephone: 0191 262 5440 good luck

    Help plz

Sean, you live too far north of us to be of any use/help to you. My dad who is the club secretary, sorts out the distances for our members, he then sends the details to the Durham combine, Mr R Porter I think, who then certifys and check the distances are correct, before issuing race distance sheets out. If you were part of the up north combine ( Pam Grange is the secretary ) then, surely they would help sort out things?
  23. Just heard that after the meeting yesterday, that all appeals were upheld and the payouts will take palce. Do not know if this is true or not, just saying what i have heard, and we will have to wait for an offical announcement.
  24. got it working now, had to uninstall and re install, seems fine now.
  25. went to the one on Saturday, some good birds(various prices from £30 to £980) Bagged 3 bargains, just need to see if they produce the goods. Sunday auction had a lot of interest, should have gone to see what prices the birds went for. Had 4 or 5 picked out , but got delayed doing something else. be interesting to see what tonights auction makes, as min bid was £50.
