  1. 5 lost Ybs from Newark this weekend, all have MDS rings and were ring stamped. Wrote down the numbers and forgot to bring the paper down. Will update later.
  2. Any returns yet, not heard anything in Aycliffe. we only have 2 or 3 in this race and nothing yet back after 5 hours?
  3. RPRA as an individual member, advert for 2007 rings in this weeks BHW.
  4. Mixed results have not seen a lot about, sent 20 got back 15 now, first birds were back at Aycliffe 2:51. I think a lot of ours have overflown or been slightly of couse as nearly all are coming back from Ferryhill / Spennymoor way. Last week we did newark and the first birds were back In 1hour 45 ish., so the weather did slow them down. About 2:15 pm today there was loads of birds must have been released close (Durham?) heading south. So a few may have got mixed up in that?

  6. Christmas day for us
  7. PIGEON PHARMACY I dont know if any one else has used this company before, but i can recommend after 1st class service. I placed an order on Monday night and selected super saver delivery (free) and recieved my order Today (Wednesday). Prices seem very reasonable to me too. Here is the link if any one wishes to have a look. http://www.hyperdrug.com/departments.asp?dept=17 They deal with lots of other animals too. I have nothing to do with them, just happy with the service. If this post is not deemed valid then please remove.
  8. I live about 6 miles from witton castle, and the weather has been fine here this morning., quite good visability . lots of clouds starting to appear now, 7 am all was clear.
  9. Mick Brennen at his store in Darlington is still collecting scottish ybs. Give him another one this morning. Dave
  10. I heard that Mick Brennan has about another 40 at his corn store In darlington, He had over 80 last week. At least they are getting home eventually.
  11. I have just been told that Darlington Club have about 50 birds and some arrangement has been made to collect wednesday or thursday. Not sure which HS in Darlington as there are a couple.
  12. Saw this on Ebay, and thought of you as this is Hants? Bordon www.ebay.co.uk item number 110018225857 you will have to do it manually as the link was so long.
  13. We have limited space too.Got these 2 in perhaps only room for 1 more, possibly 2. As i travel to catterick every day, it is ok for the odd bird to send back down south, Had 1 bird from Nottingham in twice over a 3 week period, over flew by about 100 miles? Released it from catterick at the request of the owner and it got back ok on both counts. North bound birds we release from Aycliffe if asked to do so, but we tend to get them back again, and again. Have tried to set them off from catterick as well, as lots of people use the race course to lib from, but they just seem to come back to our logft. still only got 8/9 back from wakefield, but we do try and breed for quality rather than quantity. Not that we have done very well over the past couple of years, so will be looking for some new breeding stock.
  14. we too have had a few land and take off again (newton Aycliffe) Just got in a Bor 1875 yb and an SPGR 96 yb(sunderland premier gold ring), will get in touch with as soon as we can dig out a number. We still have 1 Yb missing from Wakefield.
  15. Hi Not 100% certain as i was a Catterick at the time about 10 mile south of Scotch Corner, and there was a small amount of drizzle then. However even though it was low cloud cover visability was not too bad at all. Dave
  16. There was plenty of young birds going past our lofts (Newton Aycliffe) 10 mile north of Scotch corner. Weather wasnt too bad but low ish cloud and bits of drizzle. 12:30 -13:00 We had ours at Wakefield, sent 9 got back 8 up to now. Most of our club has nearly all the ybs back.
  17. any results going to be posted, was there any unsold lots. will there be any more for sale or auction? I hope enough was raised to help out. I fancied lot 20 but never got chance to bid, due to work commitments. I may be looking for some new blood stock with some history, cheaper the better. Just got a De Klak so thats a start, but need a hen to go with him. Preferably in the North East so I can collect.
  18. sorry to hear about your ybs we had the same last year lost 15 in one training toss, we normally only breed about 20-25. then in the 3rd yb race lost all but 2. However exactly one year later 4200 my favourite came home, very healthy and in top form. hes been on lots of training tosses this year and comes back without any problem. Yet to race him, but that will be next year now. Hope you get some back soon. Dave
  19. Durham Combine Newton Aycliffe HS Huntington last old bird race
  20. Must have been a bad day, not many birds back that quick. D Dulston had 1st bird back in Newton Aycliffe HS after 7hrs 49 mins, fed topper was about 20 mins before that. Same race 3 or 4 weeks ago was won in 6hrs 50 mins. All mine back last one about 1 hour ago, and its won from there before. Any way next week is Huntington last OB race, then we can start with the young uns Dave
  21. Thanks For that
  22. Where is the best place to buy the plastic rings with a telephone number printed on, i have seen the plain coloured plastic ones. We wing stamp, but i was checking some young birds last night and it (the stamp) has faded a lot, and they were only stamped 3 weeks ago.
