Can anyone help a good friend of mine? As many of you will have seen when training along the A168 south of Thirsk there is a farm which sells pigeon corn. The couple that live here are two of the most genuine people you could ever meet in pigeon racing. Last Sunday someone called at the farm to buy corn and did not only leave with corn but stole the couples Jack Russell terrier. It is believed that the man is from Middlesbrough although perhaps works somewhere like Leeds as he has since been seen driving past the farm again. Sadly the full numberplate was not obtained although we know it was a white ford escort van R reg, tinned out where windows used to be, with ladders on the roof. The driver was of quite a big build, probably aged about 60 with dark/going grey hair and he wore glasses. He had a young lad of about 20 with him who must keep dogs as he was asking about if a certain type of dog food was in stock. The chap bought a bag of No Bean and left. Bonny, the little dog in question is two years old and is white with two brown ears. There is a £200 reward up for her safe return. If anyone has any information please get in touch.

Hi Andrew, I have the same problem due to bad weather and work, What I have been doing with mine is making sure that they are really hungry, and just keep flicking the odd piece of corn or them to run after, started with about 5 minutes, now up to baout 15-20 minutes, when they start flaping about. I then throw in a handfull of corn and up to now they all run back in to eat. Takes time. I had the same last year, got some older hens to look after them, once the older hens started flying about the YBS went with them. If someone has a better tip then i will be pleaed to hear about it too. Dave

Yb came in this morning (newton Aycliffe), just spoke to owner in cumbria area, and thousands reported lost from their 1st race yesterday due to perigane attack. if anyone is heading over towards the lakes / keswick area this week and could release in that area owner would be grateful. PM if you can help The owner has a stray centre over that way and has 300 birds in from scotland, waiting to get reunited.

Paulo, how yer doing mate, little dc hen you gave me is paired up with a nice cock bird, who does well in distance, i was going to send him to clermont, glad i didnt I dont think he would have scored or possibly got back. The bird i sent in his place, nest box above him won me 1st club 3rd fed and 3 combine, he was back on the day. I have dropped only 1 two yr old, but we have lads that have not got any back yet. Keep losing young birds from the loft, i hate them, but we have got a lot of hawks back again. You seem to be flying well enough, perhaps it may have been wise to hold them back for a year, but you can never tell. Oh yes and we are the durham combine suicide club as Jim said, glad our birds went with the WDA to Clermont. Otherwise we could have been racing Saturday!!! Catch yer later Dave
