Bad idea, it could cause a dis..turban..ce.

Well said ally Mac. Just one thing, when the doos do the conversion, do they use degrees or that NATO things called Mils. There's nearly 18 of them in a degree and mine only have 4 toes on each foot for counting. I think mag bearings are converted to grid and not true. Mag to grid get rid, grid to mag add. Well seen I can't be bothered with that jungle sh@t that's on the telly just now.

Airport runways use magnetic north with their names being rounded to the nearest 10 degrees. If a runway was pointing 87 degrees it would be rounded to 90, so the other end would be rounded to 270. It would then be given the name 09/27 and be classed as running East/west. Because they are rounded to the nearest 10 degrees it takes years before their names change.

Magnetic or they would use maps or charts. I think a lot of mine use nothing and just stay at the Lib site. Sometimes come home with blisters on their feet. LOL

Wing stamped with phone number and a big pink dot under each wing and on rump. My daughter phoned me from the A96 just West of Nairn to tell me she could see the dots so to expect 3 racers in the next 10 minutes. Sure enough they came on time as she said. Started racing with 35, managed 5 races before the molt and have 23 left so am not sure if the dots helped with the Percy problem or not.

Sorry, have tried to post poppy picture using an IPad and am unable to. I'll never forget the sacrifice though. God bless them all. Problem sorted by The Fifer, many thanks Archie.

I've seen a couple of good lookers under the Nairn bridge. I fancy the one with the ETS ring, save myself 30 bob. LOL!

You wouldn't believe half of the things that happen in the land of the free. Try searching for persocuting small time farmers or the laws that protect the big corporations like Monsanto. Scary stuff, unbeleivable but true.
-
Agree completly.

Show the picture to a local joiner, you may get it cheaper.

Certificates have also changed in the last couple of years if you bother to read them. It used to be that you were insured to drive any car if you had fully comp. Not any more. If I were you I would read to check, better than getting caught out.

I was just about to suggest Alex Wright in Fife. You beat me to it ha bu@@er.

Hi ally mac, He's at Glen Shiel, a fair bit North of you. We find it hard enough getting birds to come up the East side of the country with the drag of the eastern birds and make it into Inverness so flying with us would be murder for him. If he could find a club on the West side he could at least try for the Nationals, something that I have no chance of doing into Inverness. I think I'm doing well if I can get birds home on the day from central Englandshire nowadays. Jim.

Hi Ally Mac, I'm PMing a would be starter just now looking for a club to fly with, Chris1984, he lives near Skye could you advise him please? I've told him that if he could join a club on your side of the country it would make a lot more sense than flying with the Forres club. Many thanks, Jim

Just what I was thinking. Great job Paul, well done!
-
And do you not think he's being paid to say that!!

Hi VMS, have you thought about how to get her home yet? I think that someone from our Fed may have to go down to Lanark soon. I can check and let you know if you're not in a rush.
-
Looks a cracking little bird Delboy. I'll hopefully hear from VMS and get it back to him soon.

It has the most beautiful face on any racer I have ever seen. Came in with my young birds and is in perfect condition. It has a note tucked in it's ring held in place by a race rubber with the name JR Robson and his telephone number 01723 Yorkshire I think. Does she belong to anyone on here?

It takes a wee while but the way to find out what your giving to your birds is to plant a handful of feed and once it's grown a good bit, spray it with some of Monsanto's lovely Roundup. Anything that dies is good stuff, anything that lives is GMO. Simples! Gives you the option to look for another supplier but mind tell the current one why you're looking elsewhere.

I have reported 3590 to the owner. Thanks for reporting. Jim
-
Thanks John. I'll be there tomorrow so can collect. Many thanks, Jim

Brilliant article. I've posted on here about GMOs a few times in the past. It's a long article but well worth a read. The big problem is, where do we get non GMO feed from? My supplier used to advertise being non GMO but no longer does. I suspect this is for the same reason a well known supermarket no longer claims to be GMO free, they told me when I emailed them that they just can't be sure if what they buy in is GMO or not so can't make the claim.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-29178662 This is towards the bottom of the page and I think it is being said by the RSPB. Other factors being investigated as possible contributors to the decline include: climate change, increased competition for nest sites, a rise in the use of rat poisons and intra-guild predation (which is the negative effects on kestrels from larger predators like goshawks and peregrines).
