  1. It's clear the majority of fanciers want their birds in the basket for as little time as possible, so on that basis i think it wise to hold basketing until there is a good chance of a race the next day. Only the controllers can decide when they go and that is as it should be, the rest of us should support them in whatever they decide. If its a stinker of a race we should show them even More support because not one of us is more sick about it than the controllers themselves are, and ave never been one for kickin a man when he's down and i believe a bad race leaves all controllers feeling down.
  2. Some might find my response a bit strange considering i have little or no interest in the Inland Nationals and wouldn't miss them one bit if they were thrown out, BUT!! a National club should appeal to, and cater for, everyone in the country including the sprint/mid distance fanciers. We (distance minded fanciers) have 4 channel races to send to, and no one holds a gun to our heads to enter these shorter races, however i think that there should be separate Averages to compete for within the club that would identify the best fanciers at the different distances raced at by the members. Maybe one set of averages for the 2 Inlands plus Ypres, and another set for the other 3 longer channel races plus Ypres. I think Ypres should count in both as it is on the long side of Mid distance into the central belt, but it is very much a long distance race for fanciers farther North, and it is still a Channel race for everyone regardless of distance. That way there is something for everyone to race for. JMO.
  3. I believe Davy has the option to delay basketing a further 24hrs until Sunday if required Wullie.
  4. Basketing for this week has been postponed 24 hours due to the adverse weather forecast.
  5. By FAR the best idea i have come across to promote pigeon racing. I done a wee talk and liberation at my local primary school a few years back but this approach is terrific and has a greater chance of producing a fancier of the future, VERY WELL DONE GARY.
  6. This Yb came in with my lot tonight, has a purple stock ring on so may be one that has changed hands, won't be on here long just now as i'm going out but will be back on later and will organise something with the owner then. Cheers John.
