  1. A dae love your cash description, , and your right its early days, i'm hoping to finish on a high and i've a couple that just might help me do it ;)
  2. Don't treat for anything. The birds with the strongest constitution will be fine, the others would go down anyway the first hard race they get. The ones not getting over it by themselves should be given short shrift, i know its no everybody's idea on how to deal with things but in 3/4 years of being rigid with this method, you won't get sick birds in your loft. I've been through every emotion, from feeling ill to cursing myself, but its been worth all of them. I simply don't get sick birds from my own stock. This year is typical, i've had to dispose of only 2 youngsters, and they were both bred elsewhere. Very best of luck to you, however you deal with it.
  3. Pooches o money to be won for them that can put pooches o money on the right doo, i'm no too clever on that front this year so far
  4. Maybe so, but the Best pigeons keep coming. Unless the fancier lets it down by asking the question too often! jmo

    Fat Lady

A SINGLE WOMAN GOES INTO SEX SHOP LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO SATISFY HER. THE ASSISTANT OFFERS A VIBRATOR AND TELLS HER SHE WILL BE OK WITH THAT. FEW DAYS LATER SHE RETURNS, THE ASSISTANT ENQUIRES IF ALL IS WELL WITH HER. SHE SAID NO, ITS NO USE. ITS TAKING THE ENAMEL OFF MA TEETH!!
  6. Just recently watched a Sea Eagle take a Seagull right out the sky, though i would agree they aren't agile enough to catch doos. They'll frighten the life out of them right enough
  7. The hen i just won 12th Region 70th open Bovingdon with, is due to lay, you can have one out of her. She is paired to a son of the doo i was 9th Reg 74th open Newbury last year. Thats if the youngster isn't too late for you.

If i'm in a position to help, then i usually do. Whether i know you or not, i'll step up to the plate. Made a lot of friends just by giving a little help, and i prefer making friends than enemies!
  9. Take the race controllers job if you feel its not being done properly, then you can be the man to "do something about it"
  10. Agree with Mick, take a direct approach to the problem, then when those that be want to talk, we can sling them a deaf ear, and see what they think. Every fancier in the country should take steps to alleviate themselves of the problem, just think of the lives you'll save if you do.
  11. I kept ma national candidates at home, they all raced Peterborough 267mls 14 days ago. They'll get 2 on the training van Tues/Wed and i'll take ma pick on Wednesday night. Ma Bovingdon doos will head to Ypres.
  12. Lanarkshire away at 7.15am, From Selby.

    England Games

Every cloud has a silver lining  G'Night men all the best tomorrow.
  14. I'll be in the market for some sprinters way that dough up for grabs
  15. There are many things said at the meetings but only one result when the votes are counted, so no matter who said what, it was still a status quo at the end of it. But i'm all for an open race fae say Newark or thereabouts. Get the proposal in and you'll get ma vote, no prob.
  16. I have NO idea what your on about, everything was voted on at the race program meeting, even if its a simple status quo, it is recorded as such. Now i don't know what minutes your looking at but if its the Race proggram meeting just last year it should be noted that a status quo was reached on the prize money distribution because there weren't ANY other proposals put forward, i know this to be accurate.
  17. Would just add that i would LOVE an open race from say 200-250 miles, the birdage would be huge and the prestige would equal that. JMO
  18. They used the MIDLAND fed transporter, Lanarkshire provided nothing to the SNFC for Bovingdon and Won't be lending/leasing them anything in the coming Snfc races. The decision to let them have the baskets last year was made at a Fed Delegate meeting after the letter requesting them was received. Your club Should have had a meeting to discuss the agenda, and your delegate HAS to vote according to what the club direct him to. As for the prize money distribution, that can also be voted on at the RACE program AGM, put a proposal in to the secretary before next years meeting and it will be discussed like everything else, and voted on like everything else, and the majority of like minded men will get their wish, whilst the Minority are left to greet on pigeon websites
  19. All decisions about transport come from a majority of members who attend the AGM. You clearly disagree with the way things are being run, so can only suggest you make sure you go and vote and if you can, get 20 or so like minded members to come along and vote with you. You do yourself no justice greetin on here about it, and look foolish going on about it at every turn. You won't find a single answer to your issues on this or any other site. VOTE VOTE VOTE, its the only way to change things, like it or lump it. No offence but thats how it is Bigda, nobody on here can help you.
  20. Sorry to hear that, that was ma best effort i'm afraid. I confess to not knowing the clock too well but, Are you not able to use an ordinary printer with them, i'm asking cos i done that when marking national birds last week. If i could print entries off it, surely its possible to print data from the clock on any Pc Printer if you hook it up to the pc first.
  21. I hope you do well, but what happened to boys clubs selling football cards and pontoon tickets every week to keep the club going on equipment. I must have sold thousands of pounds worth in ma playing days.
  22. Were the doos you speak of going on to win, were they the ones falling off the perch or were they just treated as part of the team when you administered the anti biotic? I ask this as i firmly believe good doos are NEVER sick. Thats not to say they haven't been treated for something that wasn't actually affecting them as individuals??

    Eyesign

Regardless of comments posted, it will make not one iota of difference to you or the doo. In saying that, Its got a nice clear eye with a full circle sign which would suggest it could be a good racer. The thick heart line on the outer is regarded as being responsible for endurance so that would suggest it would perform best from a distance race. The shading from 7pm to 11pm would also suggest it would race well. Thats about as much as my eyes are letting me see. However i stress that eyesign is a Theory and doesn't have any influence on the ability of a bird to either race or breed winners. Its simply something interesting to discuss. Jmo.
  24. I have to point out that the Fed Make Money when the SNFC transport our birds, the birdage of the Fed going to the longer races doesn't even touch the wages being paid out. When we send with SNFC we don't pay anything in wages, just birdage, so we SAVE Hundreds of pounds everytime we use them. The hall let money goes straight to the club who's premises are being used, the fed have no input as to which venue's will be used, the SNFC deal directly with the clubs. Also the SNFC made other arrangements for baskets this year so there'll be no income from that. I simply don't agree with organising a program to accommodate injured birds, that may or may not be looking for a race at this time of year. It is the Fanciers duty to get his birds fit to do the job. If a fancier canny get a doo fit to compete from Under 200mls then, IMO, he's in the wrong game! However if the members who attend the AGM, decide to change it next season, then thats what will happen and i'll just have to get on with it, just as those who disagree with this years program have to do now.
  25. Have to agree with the heavy losses theory, but with the racing getting tougher over the last 4 weeks, a lot of the doos still with us are not in need of the 4-5hr race. I know a couple of tosses will set mine right for Eastbourne, whether they'll score or no is a different matter
