  1. 1. It means i have a reason to get up every day and get my thinking cap on for the next day/month/year++. It means i have a haven away from the daily grind. It means peace and relaxation. 2. I enjoy EVERY aspect of keeping racers.....From deciding which pairs i will mate together, to seeing the youngsters grow in the nest, to watch them take small flights off the lofts for the first time and then starting them on the road to racing. To finally winning with the bird you have created, there is NO better feeling. I enjoy meeting fellow fanciers who are consistent with their birds, and getting their idea's on how to keep a team that perform year in year out.. 3. If i had to give them up i reckon my life without them would be so dull i'd be back in them again pretty sharpish, even as a loftman to another fancier, just so long as i could be around them and watch them return from racing.
  2. I'll be racing natural throughout the season for the first time in years. I'll also be disciplined when giving the doos Ma Mix of seeds minerals grit etc etc, cos it disnae half bring them into condition when i give them it.
  3. I'm off to do the Presentations at Lanark & Dist Club tomorrow night. Really looking forward to it, and Very Honoured to have been invited to do them.
  4. Congratulations Sapper, hope you've had a good day so far and have a great night tonight.
  5. City 1 Down, Shevchenko.

  7. His own and 2 other nests up to the day, had been a bully in the loft from the day it arrived and broke eggs last year too. Took it into his head he wanted a box he just fought 'til he won. He was by far the Biggest doo in my loft so had the size advantage over every other doo in my lofts.
  8. I heard a few years ago that the best time to do it is at 20 to 22 days old, something to do with the birds immunity developing, true or not i do mine at 21 days just to be on the safe side
  9. My team laid out between the 23rd and 28th of Feb and i canny see much wrong, however i nutted a stock ck tonight after he broke a 3rd set of eggs this season alone!!! EFFIN SWINE that it was done a couple last year too but no more.

Might as well throw ma tuppence worth into this one. I've got a Very good friend who is from a Pakistani family, he was born here, so was his Da. He works more hours fae Friday tae Sunday night than i would Consider doing in a full Week. For all his hard work he gets the privilege of paying £20k-£25k a MONTH to the tax man. Gettin on well with a guy from Krakow, moved in just round the corner from my mam, who does 48hrs every week but only gets a flat rate for the extra 8 that he does. (overtime!!!) Ma neice goes with a wee guy fae Singapore who canny get a job and signs on, his mam and sister are working right enough. I personally know UMPTEEN guys i grew up with, who have PERHAPS worked a proper job for a few years, Years Ago!!, and have been on DLA/Income Support for years, with this that and the other Imaginary illnesses getting them Extra payments on top. I'm surrounded by hundreds of their ilk. I'm no suggesting All refugees or immigrants are model citizens, but i bet London to an Orange, percentage wise, our Own are picking our pockets of far more money. jmho. I'm interested in immigrants and their stories, and would quite happily spend an evening in any of their company learning about them and their lives. I like seeing them steadily getting on through hard work and settling into life in Scotland, a country who's Reputation is of having some of the FRIENDLIEST people you could wish to meet any where in the world. As for Governments and agreements between them?? I hate the lot of them and and trust none of them, in fact i would happily send them abroad to live on minimum wage in a Mumbai slum.
  14. Lot. 1. £30 Thanks >>> Ian
  15. I'd say it depends who's selling them how much they are worth.
  16. Me being me, i told them at Coxy they were over charging fanciers for the feeding and i widnae be back, that was Over a year ago and i didnae go back. They didnae like it when i did say it!!!
  17. First i've seen your dog Bakes and he is a topper
  18. Top of the Class
  19. I'd pick an unraced/trained Blue Ck i bought, bred by John Frood of Lanark, i got it at the South Lanarkshire Y/B sale 2010. Also a Blue Pied Hen SU 10 L 390, she is a VandenbellexJim Hannah, beautiful wee hen and is just the size i like. However i look forward to being very surprised by one or two that i maybe don't fancy as much
  20. Hello James and welcome, tell us a wee bit about yourself eg, how long in the doos, where you're from and what type of doos you keep sprinters/distance/fancy doos? Anything you think is interesting really.
  21. I would be inclined to think there wasn't a night time prowler about, or at least one causing this problem, as this would have the same effect on the others whether they could see it or not, fear works its way through all the birds in the same loft. Maybe rodents, so press ahead with getting rid of them. atb
  22. He is the last son of my good Ck Told You So. Went to Ypres 2010 and came 9.25am next morning covered in feather scars from a Percy attack, it was Lashing rain that morning too, think i'll get him this year if he escapes injury/death in the coming months.
  23. Thanks VERY much for your kind remarks, i'll post just one more as i think This Ck looks particularly good just now.
