It was recommended to me by none other than the late Andrew Deans. I remember coaxing my Da to try it out as the Duramitex can leave oily stained feathers after dipping them. Now ma Da wisnae exactly easily parted with his cash and the Chlorcarb was significantly more money than his usual choice. Anyway as we were dipping them and letting them fly to the perch, they didnae look as if they had been touched never mind dipped, the Dire Warning came that it had better work after him spending his money on it. Needless to say that within a couple of hours the feather lice looked frazzled and just fell off

Something tells me it was a medical Lab that was trying it out, for Hip replacements and the likes.
-
There you've got us all scratching our heeds
-
Nice one, never heard it before.
-
I Promise you my doos are clear of lice and mite all year, i dip after the moult or before going to the winter shows and i Very Very Rarely have them on my doos using Chlorcarb, Scouts Honour!
-
Nothing better for Dipping birds than Chlorcarb Mick, doos are clean all year round. Like Duramitex the leftovers can be strained and used to spray the loft

I've seen this technology before some time ago, thought it would flood the market but until this thread i've never seen it anywhere since. Must be 3 years ago i saw it.

Yer taking this the wrong way Steven, i was not in the slightest way saying it was easy or otherwise for the South section, my point was if we as a club decide to give diploma's 1/4 or 1/5 for one race because of the Distance the bird is flying which is what the thread is about, Distance. The fanciers farther north than you boys will want a ticket for their pigeon who completes any race in more than 400ypm but not get a section ticket because their bird will have flown equal distance to other birds awarded diploma's based on the distance they have flown.
-
Got the same question with one of mine who's done Marlborough, Eastbourne, taking a ticket in both, then Ypres where he came at 20.59pm out of the result. At 2yr old there is plenty of time for him so he may just sit 'til next year?????
-
Don't suppose it matters now, damage is done
-
My intended entries haven't been in the basket since their last outing at Eastbourne, when i'm satisfied they are rising into form i will toss them again, weather permitting.
-
There is no doubt some merit in giving doos that have flown Extreme distances Diploma's on a more inclusive number such as 1/4 1/5, the problem is the South Section only flies approx 550mls from Tours. This is only equal to the central belt fanciers flying for the Gold Cup so the south pigeons flying Tours could Not be given Diploma's for flying these distances, or it makes a farce of the whole distribution of tickets in SNFC racing. JMO. In saying this, if someone writes a proposal for the AGM with a Seconder, the club members can discuss it and decide the merits or lack of merit of the proposal at the meeting.

Anyone got info on the Ypres result for Camby?? -
Think John Duthie wins his section but no idea of any others.
-
Another Blue hen turned up today, still looks in good condition too so hisnae been trying very hard, she has slept out once before so the odds are it won't see next season.
-
In your position i would separate the ck's and hens into different sections, if you can, and in a couple of weeks they will be flying a lot better. For racing you can let them together for half an hour before basketing for the race on Friday night, this should motivate Some of them to put in a good effort on a Saturday. Remember you are only educating them in preparation for old bird racing next year, there are few medals for winning with Yb's.
-
Wish i was mistaken too and had one at 17.01 instead of an hour later, but no matter how many times a look at it, it still reads 18.01
-
Seen the doos on telly news, mostly blues and chequers with damage to their backs, if ever anyone deserves a wee hand to get going again i'd say this man does, and i will gladly donate doos if an appeal is made on his behalf. If caught i bet the person/s who done this will get no more than a few months in the nick, a disgrace in itself
-
He's no at the races at that time i'm afraid, might no be at them myself at 18.01. There was a deluge of doos roughly between 5.15pm and 6pm, which is where i guess the Fed race will be finished for, jmo though, i don't have any facts or figures on the actual returns. With some luck John and i will make it but i'm no holding my breath!! ATB.
