-
Rest in Peace Andrew, my most sincere condolences to his family at this very sad time.

I have around 46 for racing next year, 17 old birds and 29 yearlings, which i'm ok with. Stock doos are a different matter, i have far too many and will keep around 6 or 8 pairs of the younger ones, the 4/5/6 yr olds i can give to someone starting out or anyone who fancies a go with them.
-
Good wan Watty, atb mate.
-
I stand corrected Rab, but in ma defence i was more interested in other Birds in '86
-
What age dae ye feel Watty?? Do ye Feel like or dae ye Feel Many happy returns mate.

The stats would tell us accurately who should go with whom, but my gut reaction is East/North and South/West going together, but like i said the stats would tell us which two should be paired. I wouldn't have a problem if it went West/North and South/East, which i think?? the stats would pair together. As a last resort go N,S,E,W on a rotational basis. ANYTHING other than what it is just now will be an improvement IMO!

You stop yer showing off lol ......... All the best Stuart hope ye get good returns and a good position to back up your excellent season in the club and Fed. John.

Sour grapes?? I don't associate with that emotion, I say what I see and have a balanced view on most if not all topics. I would like to see this particular race adjusted to enable as many doos as possible to make it home, I send to Every channel race that I have birds ready for and hope to win one some day. One thing I do know is the history of the YBN and to my knowledge it hasnn't been won in certain sections EVER!! there lies the problem for me and Very many other fanciers who are far more able pigeon men than me, yet they don't send either.
-
Ypres is an O/B race Alan and has no resemblance to the Ybn. Imo it is the fairest race and the results of doos in all sections is better than that from the other (french) race points on the programme. I made my choice in 2004 which is Not to enter the YBN, if I had NO CHANCE of winning from the O/B nationals, like I have NO CHANCE of winning this race, then I wouldn't send to them either. What's the point in entering into any competition if you Cannot win it regardless of how good you or your birds are?? Not to mention losing the best Yb's you have in your loft as well. Madness comes to mind.
-
If ye read what I wrote Alan you will see I have not singled out any section as being more disadvantaged than others. I think a split lib would do ALL birds in yhe race a fair crack at Firstly getting home and Possibly actually Win something in the Open too. I don't wear blinkers when I speak or write about this particular race. IMO if someone wanted to accuse us as fanciers of cruelty to our birds they need look no further than the YBN. JMO

Ypres is the fairest race point we have on the programme, yb's canny go there so IMO the ONLY solution is split libs. How UNFAIR this race is is way beyond the normal lack pf parity in club and Fed racing. The Open positions bear out my views that on any "normal" racing day the opportunity afforded to some sections to win an Open prize is at best meagre and more often than not, Non Existant.

Well done to ma wee mate Rab Wilson on another win, scary thing is he will only improve as he sorts his Very Young team of pigeons out in the next couple of seasons. Well done again Rab. -
Anyone reading my posts with regards to the SNFC will know i am a staunch supporter of the club, and defender of the committee, however i haven't been to the Yb national since 2004 and i won't be going again until some form of parity is put in place for the whole convoy. In other words a split lib. I do not go along with a breakaway club/organisation solution, though i know Plenty West section men who would jump at it. In the 2004 race i sent 6 pigeons, 2 x 1st a 3rd 4th and 5th club prize winners and a Ck who was my pick of the team that season but hadn't won anything. I got that Ck about 8.10am next morning and never seen another feather to this day, that is basically how this race pans out for Most fanciers around here. Until that is sorted i'm afraid my Yb's will stay in the loft come YBN time.

In the Colville Park golf club Watty and we have still to decide on our guest. Imo the committee should be the guests this year but looks like a could be out voted.
-
For me Sunday racing is only for when the weather forbids a Saturday race. Saturday is just not the same without a race. Old fashioned? Yes it is but I'm like that at times. Change route?? Then when we get a bad race or 2, people want to change route mid season !! Then when the AGM comes around the vote goes the way of the origonal route that was judged to have been the problem in the first place, Madness!!! Breed less, Breed better and the losses will reduce. Jmo.

In Yb racing the controller has the authority to change a race point if he feels the programmed race point is unfavourable for any reason. I would like it known that apart from the first 3 or 4 Ob races Davy Young did the job entirely based on his own judgements and information from fellow fanciers around the country who were giving him line of flight details, Mike Currie at Moffat is an example, who's info was priceless to Davy over the season and Davy made It very clear to me how much he appreciated all the help he got from Mike, so a big Thanks to Mike from all our members. So a massive well done to Davy who took arguably the most difficilt job of all on and used all resources available to make what was one of our best seasons for returns that we have had for some time. Well done Davy.
