JohnQuinn replied to JohnQuinn's topic in Lanarkshire Federation and Club Results
Aye Peter, pay on the night, look forward to meeting ye again, and yer long suffering wife will be well looked after. -
It's the President's prerogative to choose the Venue of the meeting, i think it should stay that way. jmo.

Lanarkshire Federation's Presentation night at the Colville Park club will take place on the 11th of October. If you are coming along will you let Cammy, Me or any of the other officials know asap so we can pass on the final numbers for catering. Promises to be a great night with Tam Cox, a terrific MC/DJ/Karaoke presenter on the microphone. Excellent Buffet meal from the club and good company aught to make it a night to remember, to finish off what's been a season to remember for us all. Remember LADIES GET FREE ENTRY!!, Gents at £12 a ticket, if you've a Harem tucked away somewhere this is the night to bring them out

The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
It's actually 6 or 7 organisations Chris, Solway, Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Midlands and Lanarkshire. I wouldn't discount Faulhouse club either, who are in fact West Lothian. They asked a few years back if they could keep the "W" prefix when the West Lothian Fed was folding and got the go ahead from the SHU to keep using it, so i would think it would be a benefit to those guys too if they wanted to come on board as they only have that one club. -
Actually turned out to be a good night in the bar. Music was good and the punters were all enjoying themselves without acting like they were in a kids playground, apart from a couple guys getting sent home miraculous, it was a good crowd and all went home without fuss. Every cloud has a silver lining some say, a suppose must be right enough.

The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
I would like to make it clear from the off that this is Not a Challenge to the SNFC and imo we wouldn't race "against" them, in other words hold races on the same day as them. I am not at all a divisive man, on the contrary Inclusion is what i'm all about, and better racing with bigger convoys from the middle distance races in particular into the West would improve all our chances in SNFC races. I have been a member of the SNFC all my life and intend to remain so. A young bird race from around 250mls into the West the week BEFORE the YBN is more in my thinking, which i believe would improve our returns from the Ybn itself for those who choose to still go to it, but i am only one man with one vote and will, as i always do, go with the Majority vote on any proposals put forward at any subsequent meetings on this subject. Onwards and Upwards lads, the ball is rolling and gathering momentum as we discuss this, so lets make it happen. -
The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Have now spoken with Walter who is interested in the idea and will in turn put it to the members at their meeting. Remember it's the Members of the Federations who will decide this, one way or the other, so go along to your AGM's and get your proposals and tuppence worth in. I am just getting a feel for the idea from the other officials at the moment and i must say overall it looks very encouraging so far. atb John. -
The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Yes i have spoken with officials from Ayrshire, Glasgow & Midland so far and hope to be in touch with the Solway and South Lanarkshire before the weekend is out. So far the feedback has been very positive except for the Midland Fed president. However he did suggest opening it up to any of their members who would like to participate, though would not attend any meeting about it. Of course the members could TELL him to come to the meeting, should we get it off the ground, as it's their Fed so with some calm heads and good communication we might get them on board as a Fed and not just individual members. I would like to point out at this juncture that the members of Lanarkshire have not had our AGM and i DO NOT PRESUME They will go for it, but we (the committee) will put it to them and see how they feel about it. If they say no then that would put paid to the idea but i am Hopeful, and no more than that, that the members will see the benefits of the larger convoys from the longer Federation races and go for it. We can but try. -
I got it 5 years running due to the type of work i do and i never as much as sneezed in all that time. However i remember my Da getting it for health reasons, and the flu he took after it lasted for weeks, my wee mam refuses point blank to have it because of that. So like most Meds its not always one type suits all!! We are all different and in different states of health, so it is unlikely we would all respond the same way to any vaccination. jmo.

Very interesting Mick, tell us more about registering with them. Pro's & Con's ?

Like i said Watty, i will be 100% truthful with everyone. I'm off work until Tuesday so will be able to monitor them properly, and i finish up next weekend for a week too so i will update around the middle of that week, approx 14 days from today. atb mate.

Very very clever Tam, but am no sure it was THAT simple to get them to do it. lol

Never read so much rubbish, he's trying to screw you, in fact both of them are. Put the doo in a nest box with easy access to food and water and it will come round ok in a few weeks time. I posted on here just before the Yb season started that i had one with a badly broken leg and ripped open the full length of its breast. I put 14 stitches in to close the wound then put him in a neat box to rest up. He is now back in amongst the others and i'd pay any man £100 if he could pick it out from the others. Best advice i can give you is stay well clear of vets as there are no specialist Avian vets around so you are only getting their best guess and a big bill to fatten their wallets. A bit like dealing with lawyers!!!

Well i came home with 2 youngsters from the sale on Sunday and had 2 just ready to wean in my stock loft. Vaccinated the 4 Yb's today and all my stock birds, the 4 Yb's i shifted in beside my Yb racing team. I will be 100% honest with you all when i feed back how they got on. Reading some posts would suggest my race team should be done again to protect them from the 4 new introductions, i disagree with this but as i say i will let you's know in a couple of weeks if there is any problems in the Yb loft. Can't remember Ever having a problem putting late breds in with my older Yb's who have been vaccinated when leaving the nest in April/May and i do it every year.
-
Yes i would LOVE both organisations getting back together, i think if that comes about, the result would be that there was a lot stronger club at the end of the day and better racing with a larger birdage, everyone's a winner. jmo.

Like it or lump it, i have removed all posts that are OFF TOPIC!....... And Its your fault George, you started the stupidity!!!

Been that busy with 2 jobs and the Fed's needs i've no seen much of him but i do know they got £750 on one of their dogs at 5/2 and it stoated in for them, very shrewd men with dogs or doos!! Hope the big man gets back into the doos sooner rather than later though, cos i miss his patter and we always text each other on race days.
