  1. Spot on sun rise add another half hour before sun on baskets even longer week later Go down to dookit before sun rise and open doors see how many will come out unless they have been schooled this way since a very young age ,good night lads working early
  2. Agree with early lib waether permitting but that was not my question what time sun on baskets at those dates ?
  3. As we have been discussing early liberation's at 04-30 am in central France for the gold cup or even the longest race ,with the 21st of June being the longest day which is a week before our gold cup race has anyone any idea when the sun would be shining on the race hampers say for the gold cup to start with then the longest race no guessing just the truth
  4. Beautiful looking hen John sure she will do the biz again good luck
  5. Walter simple answer for those of us who would like a six am liberation so be it , For those who wish to be liberated at high noon just have them be race marked in specially marked baskets and have there wish and then no one could complain ,would be no problems velocity worked from lib time to clock in time UNC been doing it inland for Y E A R S
  6. No his trolley his boat ,thats what i have been doing last few days walter relining hold of trawler take ma hat of to you guys working on it when moored enough for me
  7. Got my vote on that yin andy
  8. That is a very good point regarding airports if that is the case Derek,If the members vote for Liege then so be it ,the only thing that sticks in my mind is when people from belgium state we would be crazy racing from there i am only thinking of the birds and not position good luck for 2011 wherever we may go
  9. PEN NUMBER ONE FOR ME FANTASTIC CONDITION HAVE TO SAY PENS 17 & 19 WHICH SEEM TO BE SAME LOFT FROM BACKGROUND DETAIL RUN IT VERY CLOSE.
  10. Terrible its coming doon like this
  11. Hi John ,Welcome to the site from a very wet Scotland
  12. Very good point there regarding if birds are coming across peebles moffat route as moffat water valley up to selkirk is no go area second highest population peregrine outside cumbria much safer coming up A74 or M74 as it is now i no nowhere is ideal but that is why ayrshire get humped because they are coming from east and have to cross moffat water valley to get home on line anyway ,bop man told me at last count there were in excess of eighteen breeding pairs there not counting juveniles scary stuff
  13. Derek i for one do appreciate good fanciers like yourself and others in the north and west sections who fly a fantastic pigeons these pigeons on the day are every bit as good as any winners but are never going to get there just reward because of location and wind factor you can only prepare them to do there best and be proud of there achievements when studying results .
  14. Sorry didnt think b-----h was expletive only letting members no its gender always called a boy a dog a girl a b---h
  15. Yes Walter correct in what you are saying about small clubs ours being down to nine members in lockerbie ,when i first started in 1972 there were thirty odd members ,Percy Cameron was our secretary and voted me as his president at a very young age Percy was actually pres of the snfc as well ,i then became secretary for many many years until you were kind enough to give me a break actually ten years now ,this president's job is much easier sadly with all clubs there are those who are willing to do the chores and those who are not ,no youngsters coming in to the sport ,i am the youngest in our club which is frightening ,do think clubs will have to amalgamate sooner rather than later ,and also agree with the gentleman's reply regarding two nationals in Scotland an utter disgrace but that's democracy for you .
  16. Good luck with the pup john ,we got one as a pup from the stray centre at dumfries cross between a staffy and an alsatian great natured wee *expletive removed* eighteen months now built like a tank ,comes into the loft with me when i feed the doos and barks at the ones that sit on my shoulders pigeons dont mind her ,great with cats not that they hang around ,mans best friend
  17. As i have said many times before we can only race to our home where we live it is a real pity that bop are dictating to the fanciers where best to race our birds from ,and yes will agree with you all the further north your bird has to travel the more it has to avoid being attacked anyway good luck to you all in 2011 am sure we will all clock a good one and prob loose an even better one
  18. Never mentioned any thing about birds being superior and would never do so sorry if you are misinterpreting the post only stating if birds are with leaders where ever they may race should be clocking them if you think this is a cosy place to try and race pigeons come try it
  19. Get murdered in shap area when we release birds in shap fells once we get clear down to lymm manchester area get far better returns as for beattock summit only one pair there at present in fact last time i walked dog only male there hard hard winter
  20. Many factors can come into play ,the midland birds will not go as far down the west side as ours ,our birds have the advantage of being raced on line to the national racepoints the week previous to the first race anyway, but surely if i am clocking here in moffat there should be birds with mine working there way the thirty or forty miles into the west section and midland areas,on a fed day when the birds are clocked into the annan areas i can set my watch when mine will be arriving thirty miles to the north ,if they do not appear its quite simple to me they have not been with the leaders
  21. Does that no prove you should be following our programme to stafford then cut through on line coventry buckingham bovington both lines come straight over top of me ,draw the line to the borders area then back to you look at the miles you are giving away jmo
  22. Surely that has a lot to do with your birds not being trained on this line ,i get most of mine home the bop cant catch them all once over the hills here your birds would get a good run home ,watch the midland birds race through here on a saturday and they are going really well sure do get some batches turning after being struck but sure that is happening all over ,good luck for 2011
  23. Good points of interest there chris ,example Leige annan 475 moffat505 hamilton 532 edinburgh514 Would that not prove that if the west birds were racing up the east as they are being trained each week to do so they would break across before the edinburgh area that does not give them enough mileage to compete surely they have to come on line with ours annan moffat and over the top of the hill behind me and thats them home cut out the dogleg ,mind you if i were to get a good one edinburgh no going to beat me at nine miles overfly Leige Leige Leige
  24. John ,jimmy dals hoddam dynamo has got a first and third open to its credit along with a list of other wins, including last years gold cup going for its gold award this year and i bet anyone if it is fortunate enough to get to the start line and gets a clear run we will not have to look very far from the top of the result to find it ,anyway best o luck for 2011 and if we are really wanting to win nationals only one answer to that mate move house
