They are just once again trying to prove to joe public that justice is looking to be done when every single one of them should have been held accountable ,by the way never seen any bankers get jailed and they done us all for billions

My friends in ireland have been working this system for many years ,on normal measurements eg from race point to your loft is how all of us are measured knowing only to well the birds don't come on that line of flight ,am sure how it works from a breaking point you take a point where the convoy normally would pass over say ten miles short of first drop in your fed ,all members are measured from race points to breaking point then from breaking point to loft location thus giving the west flying members a truer flying distance that there birds have to actually fly much fairer for most but to no advantage for a loft located due north ,that's the best i can explain it Hope you can make some sense of it ,am sure this only applies to federation races if agreed by majority of members but not in national racing .

Its like a bloody winters morning here typical pigeon weather cold wet and cant see the hills .
-
Our Racing starts on the 16th ,only just started to let birds out since September I am never in any panic early doors like to see temperatures rise long season ahead rather be last early races def not wanting to be at that end come the main ones ,Good luck to all
-
Same with mine once weather got warmer hens would fly for 2 hours ,yet cocks when out would just continuously strike of ,yet they were usually first home .
-
Fantastic sales list Frank . Wee question once got a young bird in from the ybn many years ago prob 15 plus at least turned out it was an all pooler to much money on its back to get over the hills chap that came down for it was lovely guy he told me he built the newmains clubhouse sure he passed away the following year whilst taking his wife shopping at lanark just cant remember his name but was certainly a gentleman with a lovely nature .
-
None as yet will start to hatch next week onwards ,only going to keep 40 to race this year rest will be gifted to friends .
-
I only tried darkness for a few years first year they won out of turn, but like you did find what i thought were my best went down as yearlings mostly on fast races with an easterly wind ,flying a round of naturals only this year but when i go back to some on darkness in the coming years will not race as yearlings the ones that raced really well as youngsters but start them again as 2yo jmo
-
Could not even hazard a guess as to how many birds i have gifted over the last near on forty years ,will give to a sale if asked but tend to gift birds to friends on a yearly basis and like to give new starters what i think is the best ,gives me great pleasure hearing of fellow fanciers having success with these birds ,have met countless friends through gifting pigeons as my old school mistress said Do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you

Simple if you are going to race natural you must road train to get any degree of success ie fitness if you do that where there is a high density of falcons you will loose one each toss ,widowhood birds don't need trained after first race ,so what returns on race day is almost guaranteed to be there the following week .

Happy belated 40th Gareth hope that was-nae you and your mates driving round Moffat last night in the Boogie Bus and a did-nae get an invite

You gan boolin this sunday ,wife driving so i can get a wee or
-
Yeah most prob will steven doesn't make any difference to walter and myself as no matter what direction we race our birds still got to come north from gretna with the east a1 route we loose even more mileage to our club mates Davy thinks xmas has came early We just enjoy the taking part on race days and getting our birds fit for the nationals different ball game then if they are right
-
Nae Probs steven i think we get a far better result in lockerbie when our birds are mixed with yours ,the north section bit is only a private joke between walter and myself as we only get eight miles of some fanciers and yet it is three days camel ride up here
-
Ladies on her lonesome i believe stevie .
-
Well Done Walter ,good work again giving up your sunday on behalf of the fed ,all ready for the off now
-
Yeah Walter wouldn't make no difference to us as we fly into the north section each week quite happily just glad to see our birds return
-
I always used to race natural and had many good results ,not as easy working this system now because of raptors hence the change if you live in an area where you are not to troubled with the falcon this is what i used to do ,I had no stock every bird raced whether they had scored the previous year from 500mls in they went at the start the following year no exceptions ,they were also basket trained twice a week then two weeks prior to the gold cup race they would fly cheltenham approx 240 mls then be tossed from sixty miles the following sunday then be sent to the gold cup race on the tuesday night for friday race had my best results with hens all flying to chipping eggs or one day old youngster on basketing clocked them flying sixteen half hours on the day into nw wind ,one thing i found youngster must be there on return for hen ,had some good positions with cocks as well ,my cousin won three gold awards and he was really hard on the road work and would think nothing of doubling them back into 560 mls following them having raced 500 mls the week previous his best results were achieved racing cocks driving the hen and feeding a large youngster but not prior to basketing ,wish those days were able to be repeated with trouble free training but sadly will just have to make best of present climate ,hope this is of some help .good management good birds and a wee bit o good luck
-
Sorry to hear that hope you left it lying.

Lockerbie Racing Pigeon Club will be race marking there birds at Hoddam on the kind invitation of there members as we are homeless at present due to major refurbishment works at auction mart with no guaranties at present on a return ,I for one would be all in favour of a future merger which i think personally would benefit both fancier and bird (more to hold there line once i got mine trained to keep up with stevens )
-
No Probs there mate ,if you think the competition starts to get a bit tough i'll give you a pair aswell
