DBA421 Posted July 31, 2018 Report Posted July 31, 2018 This months edition of National Geographic has an article on the rapid decline from The Peak District of Goshawks and Peregrine Falcons in the Northern Section of the Park. The article is blaming Grouse Shooting Estates. Most likely the fact that very few Federations now use the West Route and the Hawks do not have ready meals given to them on Race Days.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted July 31, 2018 Report Posted July 31, 2018 This strengthens the argument for licensing liberation sites at National Governing Body level. If we carefully monitored the situation, and everyone raced down the same route, using the same liberation sites for a set period of time, we could notice a decline of raptors in the other areas whilst our liberation routes would see an increase. At the correct time, we then shift all the liberation sites to the other route and improve our racing due to the reduced number of raptors, whilst starving out the raptors on our old route. This has been advocated before, but the racing fraternity is so fragmented that an agreement will never be reached and that is why it has to be licensed at NGB level.

They are lucky for a reason. Hard work and dedication. You make your own luck
