Tam I gave them up last year after over 40 years in the game. For me it was best thing iv done.got my life back nae stress or worries.Just not worth it.All the best whatever you do.

Similar to you, three years ago I gave up racing after 30 odd years and to be honest it has been the best decision ever.

I also got my life back and as you say, no stresses or worries.

I'm doing things now that I never had time for in the past, whether it be family or sports.......it's great!!!!!

Hearing all the horror stories of this year, and previous years certainly doesn't encourage me to start back.....not that I would.

I don't miss it one little bit.

Theres to much negative comments on social media about racing pigeons in general . Any person looking at these ..from the rspb or similar are going to think that they don't give a toss anyway as most people hate the sport but instead of trying to make it better they just post all doom and gloom

How so very true. Pigeon Fanciers and their Apathy and blaming any one and every but them self has a lot to answer for. Plus the stupid old aged so glumly used 'Well you know I would … but the others... well' wink, wink nodd nodd.

P,s YOU are one of the others.

Too many just don't want to KNOW and still cling to the scenario that 'Some One else will' … or 'It will get better... or won't, but what can I do'!

Colin,

Who said I was out of pigeons?

My reply was that I gave up racing over 3 yrs ago and all the stresses and worries that go with it :)

Dad has a few pair at his house, a mix of old favourites and Fed/Prize winners.

How's the racing been for you this year?

Alb,

Colin.

Cheers Brian.

You will have seen there are only a handful of birds kept, but almost all of them are prize winners with a good percent Fed winners.

That was always our way, small team of quality bloodlines, never one for big numbers.

Colin.
