Josh123slater Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 I've had the young birds out for a few weeks now, they are flying for an hour then trapping very well. But they only circle just above rooftops and don't go very far from loft maybe a street over either way. Any ideas why this could be? I'm starting to get very dizzy watching them
Blue Chequer Pied Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 Mine do that when the peregrine is about.
Bryngwynt Lofts Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 Mine do that when the peregrine is about. That’s what I was thinking,a sure sign.Staying low and close to roof tops, nice and safe on roof tops.
Josh123slater Posted June 1, 2018 Author Report Posted June 1, 2018 We do have trouble with gosehawk but everyone else young birds are high and starting to range.
THE FIFER Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 We do have trouble with gosehawk but everyone else young birds are high and starting to range. try and get them out when those other birds are out
dal2 Posted June 2, 2018 Report Posted June 2, 2018 It used to be an old fanciers tale that the birds needed wormed if they flew tightly not far from the loft......as I say maybe just a tale.....but if you ain't wormed them then maybe so.ething to think about
Wiley Posted June 2, 2018 Report Posted June 2, 2018 I wouldn’t worry if they are flying over an hour and not ranging, if they been doing this 3 weeks or more it would be a respiratory treatment and in the basket
b.massey Posted June 2, 2018 Report Posted June 2, 2018 I’d say either hawks about (mine do it and they see it before I do)Or maybe respiratory

Bobby4 Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 My mate no longer in doos now an that's why he packed up.2 year in a trot his birds did exactly what's happening with you 15 year ago not as many perrigrines about then .his neighbours doos were flying an ranging .he took birds training 1st toss an lost 95% off them an the same thing the following year an he packed the birds up.
greenlands Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 They're babies they'll range when they are ready. If anything I've found canker to be a problem especially when training and not leaving the lib site right away, that or BOP.
