Checkmate Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Hi all! My first season this year and managed to get together a team of youngsters, wasn't able to put them on darkness so just racing natural but managed to do ok first couple of races. Just wondered how many training tosses they should be going on in between races? I don't want to over train them and I get that everyone probably does it differently... anyway your thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

sienna Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 When the distance gets further then start backing of training, but in the beginning I believe training 20-30 mile twice a day if you can .Flying freely around the loft isn't really getting high level of fitness. Remember it's your job to teach ybs what's required of them. Good luck mate
blucock Posted July 31, 2017 Report Posted July 31, 2017 Depends what your time and pocket can cope with - don't ruin your life educating youngsters if you want to have them racing as OB next year then they won't need hammering out to the longest YB races If you're only wanting them for youngsters racing then work them as hard as you dare but put the fuel in them to do so
peter pandy Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Feed them well and train 25mls Wed & Thur.
