yeboah Posted May 5, 2017 Report Posted May 5, 2017 I have at present a yearling hen who acts like any other in the loft she is also tame ,She reared a single youngster then since separated when let out for exercise with the other hens has a mind of her own.the hens have been going out after the cocks approx. 6-50 the wind has been strong and bitterly cold but they fly of their own free will for approx. 45 minutes before landing ,the cheq hen however the last few nights has raced the skys as if her life depended on it for approx. 1hour 40 minutes This morning I let her have part of the passageway with an old unpaired cock and they lay in the bowl most of the day loved up (just like we used to be lads )My thinking was she would land with the others tonight ,no chance out at 6-50 landed after racing flat out at 8-55 then walked in as if all was ok I'm still suffering from hypothermia Ps she was a gift from a friend and is bred of birds that were responsible for winning the snfc average for 2 longest races recently ,thinking about giving her a few more races then keeping her for a 2 yo when she may have settled down Any Thoughts ??
