greenbar Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Don't play it,every body on poor Percy's side,£86'000 ,could be put to much better use.
Froog Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Remember guys, the lottery also helped fund pigeon racing by giving clubs money to buy ETS clocks etc.
Pompey Mick Posted March 1, 2017 Report Posted March 1, 2017 Don't knock the Lottery, Awards4All funded a trailer for my Club in 2015 £7,600. It's there if you put yourself out to get it. Local Club Flying High with Lottery Win 2016 will see the Milton Homing Society transporting their Racing pigeons in style thanks to a grant from ‘Awards for All’ lottery funding. This grant follows one awarded in 2007 to the Milton Homing Society which is a local Pigeon Racing Club which has been in existence since 1929 based locally at the ‘Old House at Home’ and is a self-funded volunteer run Organisation which organises Pigeon races for its membership.Awards for All grants are available for local organisations to fund projects which fit their criteria and I quote: “Awards for All gives groups an easy way to get small Lottery grants of between £300 and £10,000.We want to fund projects which address the issues, needs and aspirations of local communities and people. We will fund a wide range of community projects aimed at developing skills, improving health, revitalising the local environment and enabling people to become more active citizens.â€Application for these grants is well within the capabilities of any Leaders who feel their Organisation would benefit from an injection of funds of this nature. I have applied four times and been successful twice and I am not an academic, being an ex-building worker with no GCE’s to my name. All you need is a worthy project and the Awards for All website will lead you through the application process, explaining what will and will not be funded. If you find yourself struggling they have a helpline which is staffed by very helpful personnel who talk you through any problems you may have encountered. My Club has benefitted twice and there must be dozens of Clubs and Organisations in Portsmouth who could benefit from Lottery Funding of this type and it’s free to enter, all it needs is your time and determination. Don’t despair if you fail, try again, and if your project is deemed a worthy applicant that improves the well-being of its recipients then you will have every chance of success. Having received these grants has improved my Club’s stature and stability whilst benefitting its membership and ensuring the Club’s future as it enters its 87th year.If you have a project that you feel will fit the criteria of the Awards for All grant then go to their website and get involved, it’s your best chance to win The Lottery.www.awardsforall.org.uk
