Aye its shocking....remember that figures are for only 3 months, ide like to see the managing directors wage slip
cemetary Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 A don't really worry about the share holders, they have plenty in the bank, and for big company's, couldn't give a jack about them, they don't worry about there workforce either. There is almost 300 thousand + out of work world wide due to the down turn, shops, business etc, and it dosent look good until 2nd half of 2017.

Try living in Aberdeen, house prices highest in uk outside London, and thousands paid off from oil jobs, when oil finally runs out this city will be well and truly f ****d. madness to put all our eggs in one basket......people never learn.

BLACK W F Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 Froog, don't want to live in Aberdeen, happy where I am, Aberdeen Oil Capital of Europe, Oil, never run out, new discovery's with high contents found every day, cheaper at this time to keep it in the ground. Down turn dosent just effect the guys in the North, its all over the noooooooooooooo :(the price that it was will never return once Iran comes on line and fracking starts up again it will keep the price low the cost of taking out the north sea is too dear so the company's say who just want bigger profits and there's more losing their jobs every day its far from over 2017 will not be any better and it will be employees who will get the brunt of it and this is slowly starting to hit other industry's
cemetary Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 The price at the pumps is creeping up slowly, maybe it will never return to the high price before the drop, but fingers crossed, to allow more work for all. It was just a couple owe weeks ago that a tanker was sitting aff the Forth due to bad weather and couldn't get into aff load into Grangemouth with fracking ,didnt here or read much, looks like that's what's going to happening in the future, eye, and that's BP. Bring back the coal mines.

philg50 Posted November 2, 2016 Author Report Posted November 2, 2016 I have not looked at the price of oil now but i do know it cost thousands of jobs in the coal mines the steel works and the shipyards up and down the country and it was the tool and the finance that allowed the Westminster Government destroy the unions ,by turning their back on British workers and buying in from our so called EU parteners at the time ,yes once oil was cheap but it changed parts of society forever .So in saying that was it ever cheap !!
Froog Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 Fred where do u get that from what a load of bollocks it is taken more than 17 dollars to get it out and the deeper u go its a lot more then the tax government gets and profit taken out by the company the percentage sent back is the tax on it harry oil prices yesterday was 48 dollars a barrelI was talking about taxation, not the price to extract it....If we had independence ALL the oil revenue would be ours, no matter how low it is. Just now the small tax that is collected goes to Westminster, abnd they drip feed a small percentage back to us.
