R&KMORRISON Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 A lot of fanciers have had to stop there young bird's from training due to the weather and Percy my own youngsters have not had much training due to myself on holiday but rest assured that they will not be on transporter till they are well trained if not then they will not be raced this season.
grdkeith Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 If ye weren't being sarcastic my apology but you misquote me and where I come from 'would be interested' is a p**s take.I never said train them to break without training, I said if Doos are conditioned/trained properly by those who do train then my or any untrained birds will not hold them back. If yer Doos Are held back by mine they're no trained properly and will hang about with my rubbish. But these fanciers try to put the blame of their own inadequacies as fanciers at others ppls door. When they don't win its Ma fault coz mine aren't trained. I started this thread because of the amount of birds already lost by fanciers who are barely 20mls from their loft for a training toss. O/B's and Yb alike. Now I would like tae know fae serial trainers and losers of pigeons unnecessarily why Feeding Percy 4/5 times a week instead of once is of benefit to their birds or the sport for that matter.......Just Tae win a poxy 60mls race that's most likely got a first prize of about a £5'er. Genuinely was not taking the p#ss,never said mine were held back by anyone's but was enquiring how I could get them to break without training, i train mine as often as I can, over 20 times so far and although I lose plenty training my losses racing are lower than most ,they get attacked at lib on about 20% of the time but just regroup and clear quickly, undoubtedly some get nailed but most cope
geordie1234 Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 mines have had 8 tops this year way way less than last year but I simply don't have the time with the new baby at the house so maybe just see how they go without anymore mines have had 8 tops this year way way less than last year but I simply don't have the time with the new baby at the house so maybe just see how they go without anymore
JohnQuinn Posted July 20, 2016 Author Report Posted July 20, 2016 Genuinely was not taking the p#ss,never said mine were held back by anyone's but was enquiring how I could get them to break without training, i train mine as often as I can, over 20 times so far and although I lose plenty training my losses racing are lower than most ,they get attacked at lib on about 20% of the time but just regroup and clear quickly, undoubtedly some get nailed but most cope When a look at my Ybs I am thinking how to best get them to the end of next Ob season intact. Like everyone else I have trained Doos every year and lost birds I had hoped would do well in the race basket.Am of the opinion now that training is detremental to Ybs and Ob's so have stopped feeding the Hawks midweek. My percentage of losses from this Yb team will neither be above or below average losses at this time next year after the yrlg stage. Everything has changed around us as far as hazards are concerned but fanciers being fanciers carry on regardless and moan about Predicted!! Losses. I chose to change my ways to see if my situation improves any. It may not help but I am convinced it won't hinder the best of what I have.
philg50 Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 I kinda agree with you ,a good doo, is a good doo ,regardless, if it is still going to be in your shed in a years time all the better but unlike you there is not a lot that would take the chance of nae training just to see the result. But on saying that what happened years ago with little or no transport ,i am sure fowk were not getting on their bike and going 20 mls every second day eh??
JohnQuinn Posted July 20, 2016 Author Report Posted July 20, 2016 Took this pic 2 mins ago. Stray on my roof that has most likely been tossed. How the F is that any use tae that poor thing ??
dkj Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Don't give mine much lad and I know where ur coming from hello lad, u do what u want with your doo,s, and i do what i want with mine, simple
Novice Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Training need not be a traumatic experience if the line of flight is prepared in advance.
We man Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 You've came onto the thread Headbanging because YOUR 'trained' Ybs are being kept back by my Untrained Ybs. If ye train yours right mine or anyone else's won't hold them back.Think the reason for the ybs that don't get off their mark at lib time and are hanging about is because they are "sick"and please don't tell me there are not,for some if they can fly they are sent.omho.

JohnQuinn Posted July 20, 2016 Author Report Posted July 20, 2016 Tried the link John and got nothing except page saying error Sorry Tam it seems ok for some but others canny get it....... The link is about the hen I got in Reims, it was only the 5th race of her life. 2014 latebred untrained/Raced. 2 races as a yearling Thirsk and Otterburn. 3 races this year, Wetherby Kettering and Reims. One toss fae Gala the Saturday before Reims because our comeback race was cancelled fae Thirsk or she would never have been trained. So why feed Doos tae Percy when it's no needed is my point.
