What i would like to know is (1) why does the Fed want to waist money on

paying for all the members distances for Berwick when it is exactly the same

distance as Arnison which is 97 miles.

(2) why did the race committee want to have 3 races one after the other at

97 miles and then jump the young birds 63 miles to Consett 160 miles.

Or is it that the race committee have no idea how far these race points are

to Aberdeen.

you could say the same for thornton and arniston only 8 or 9 miles apart

on near the same line and we have normally 4 races from there every year in y/bs

berwicks the same distance but a diff line

after 4 or 5 races at around 100 miles do you not think they can manage a 63 mile jump

and consett to ripons a 50 mile jump which they do near every year

if you send to snfc ybn that's a 150 mile jump

ps- it wasn't down to the race committee,

they were instructed by their clubs how to vote,

most of them had a race program from their clubs in front of them

Well there was no time for my club to have a meeting as the Fed only gave one weeks

notice that their was going to be one. The Fed in my opinion should have given the club

secretaries 2 weeks notice so that they could arrange a club meeting with a weeks notice

to their members.

I discussed the above with my club President Alex Rae and between us decided as there was no time to call a meeting to go along the lines of last years programme with the exception of finding a new race point to replace Alnwick.

Did the club or clubs that were lucky enough to have had a meeting so that their members

could make up a race programme and had Berwick in it give the rest of the race committee the reason for their choice and its distance from Aberdeen.

If they did i personally think the race committee should be done away with and the race

programme decided at the AGM.

willie the concencus was to stay away from Alnwick

that went along with the direction I got from my club

berwick was an option as were some other race points further inland

st boswells/kelso etc etc but we have had some disasters out of them in the past

fife used kelso but changed due to the really heavy losses im told

my club instructon for both programs was to keep away from thornton and Alnwick

Berwick is nearly the same line as Alnwick and right on the coast and exactly the

same distance as Arniston which has been tried and tested by us for years.

So why did the race committee choose Berwick, a name plucked out of thin air i think

with out any discussion of where it is or how far.

I will say it again

THE CLUBS DECIDED THE PROGRAM

the race committee just voted on their behalf on their instruction

as I said before that most clubs attended with race programs written out

silver city

mastrick

central

don't remember if the district had a written out program

but they did have a meeting before the race committee meeting

must have been more than one or it would have been the Race Committees

decision, in my opinion put no thought into their choice,as i said before plucked

Why cant yous guys try and liberate from Leven caravan site.

Its right on the waters edge, but wide open, and am sure you would get a good race from there, and also returns.

Yous go to Thornton every year, and without FAIL, don't seem to get a good race or good returns, B)

But at the end of the day, that's pigeon racing for you, either vote for this, or would like to go here or there.

WELL WHAT IS THE POINT

THE RACE PROGRAM IS MADE UP BY THE RACE COMMITTE

ITS UP TO THEM WHARE WE GO

THE MEMBERS IN MY CLUB ASKED FOR THORNTON TO BE REMOVED

LIKE YOU SAID BAD RACE POINT BUT WHATS THE USE THAY STILL GO

NO MATTER WHAT SOME MEMBERS ALSO THINK THAT THE PROGRAM IS MADE

UP BEFORE THAY EVEN GO TO THE MEETING AND IF THAY ARE HONEST THAY

SHOULD STAND UP AND BE COUNTED NOT HIDE AWAY AND GREET ABOUT IT

ANYWAY I ANT BOTHERD WHARE THAY WANT TO RACE FROM I SEND WHEN I

WANT AND IF I WANT

I THINK THE RACE PROGRAM SHOULD BE PUT BACK THE WAY WE USED TO

DO IT AT THE AGM SO IT CAN BE THRASHED OUT AND WHATS MADE UP

IS WHAT THE MEMBERS WANT NOT TO BE TOLD BY THE RACE COMMITTE

AS SOME THAT GO TO THESE MEETINGS DO NOT GET PAST THE FIRST THREE

RACES OLD BIRDS AND YOUNG BIRD RACEING BUT THIS IS WHAT WE ARE

UP AGENST :emoticon-0179-headbang::emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

I am nay sure mine but in my opinion i think the young birds are raced like this to give them flying time to get them ready and strong enough for young bird national ,same as North o Scotland Fed ,you need tay mine its a fair hike above you lads for the bird tae make hame, maybe im wrong
