Could You Spare A Little

Hi All

I recently received the sad news that a close friend and work colleague, has been diagnosed with Terminal Lung Cancer, at a very tender age of 36.

She has always done loads for Charity herself, and this year completed the London marathon only a few weeks before her diagnoses.

I have decided to try and raise a few quid for her chosen Charity the Roy Castle Foundation, as they have been a wonderful support to her so far.

I will be doing a 5K Santa run on the 6th December, and would be honoured if you could sponsor/support me.

This entails me running/walking/hobbling/and finally crawling around a course dressed as Santa, whilst no doubt being jeered by local kids. Photos before during and after the event will be provided.

Granted this is not a marathon, but bear in mind I have a beer belly to carry as well as two knackered knees.

I do appreciate it is coming to an expensive time of year however if any of you could spare anything no matter how small, it would really be appreciated

Thanks for your time

a quick update on progress.

Bear in mind before this I havne not run at all.

Went to the gym last Friday with the intention of completing the 5K, now through a mixture of jogging, walking, whimpering, and making a general fool of myself by dropping my iphone onto the treadmill and watching it shoot off the back end at a rate of knots, before being followed by myself, as I forgot to realise if you stand still on the treadmill to watch your phone you will follow it and gravity will do the rest.

Anyway managed it in 1 hour 15 minutes, hardly the 4 minute mile I know, anyway attempted it again last night and shaved it down to 1 hour 4 minutes, Thursday we will tackle again and see if we can get sub 60 minutes.

Shins hurt, and phone screen cracked but otherwise all good.

Tackled it again last night and managed 58 mins 44 seconds, just got to build up to run the whole 5K, and not stop for a stroll half way, shins still killing me.
