Whats up with going from Dunbar to Otterburn? Some fanciers have forgot on the 3rd or 4th yb race it is usually a disaster , whether its inexperienced birds being jumped in or YBS that causes it, who knows but look back many years and race number 3 or 4 in the ybs is usually disastrous.ps. The west route for me was very good for returns but id still go for east marginally.

Your right Del, it shouldn't be an issue but our gut told us that this was going to be sticky and you have just said the 3-4 race is dodgy,Lanarkshire got far better returns than Glasgow by the looks of it one hour apart, the only difference seems to be yous where there last week and we were jumping from Dunbar.

No difference in my opinion

Big difference to us!

When we raced the west route we would half the convoy ever time we went to to Longtown or locherbriggs, you live in another world from us.

Again. ...why

This might sound crazy but its an observation ive made over the years. Lanarkshire fed get different races ( returns etc )from Otterburn than what Glasgow fed get. I don't know the reason for this but it is true. Ask any Lanarkshire man and they'll say Otterburns a great racepoint, with very little losses, ask any from our neck of the woods and we have always lost a few??? Strange but true.I get my birds transported with Lanarkshire and usually I have a stinker in the first Otterburn with them regardless of how much training ive done. The first Otterburn I got 12/19 and was half an hour behind lol, a mystery but it happens every year.

Again. ...why

About 12 years ago we all race from the west Solway area with 50% losses every race, when we started going East the returns were much better, this is not so good now but the Wesy route still looks like lambs to the slaughter still.

Like I said another world!

This was your second Otterburn, our first, maybe that is why, your birdage tells a story, 19 sent in the first and 50 plus in the second you knew what was coming.

No sure about yer figures. I have raced both on numerous occasions. ......P*** races frae both sides........what's causing the poor racing into the west?

Its the 3rd Otterburn lol, but your right, I did expect it m8

Well that makes even more sense lol, we are at Aycliff next week and had to go today even though we were holding our breath for returns, but they have to go!

If you read my first post Stuart you will see I say that controllers need our support. My question is this........why are their so many ayrshire, Glasgow etc ybs floating around solway? That's not on any line is it

Well that's the first anyone has mention Glasgow birds around the Solway today ??. Million dollar question why are birds off line ????

just a quick one ,

Lanarkshire Fed entries Old Birds 2014 - 44,080 b

Lanarkshire Fed entries Old birds 2015 - 46,643 b

by 8th race in the 2014 program entries - Upper Heyford 1215 b

by 8th race in the 2015 program entries - peterborough 3551 b (that's 2336 b of a difference)

also taking into account that we lose members year on year, birdage is up in 2015, can only mean loses are down.

im not bothered where we race from, I'll be there regardless,, but figures don't lie about returns Del, and before anyone says about distance Yes we could have a bit more early on. still massive difference.

So what we have figured out here us that the 1. Moffat hills are stopping you boys racing west 2.returns from the east are way better. 3. The solway is an easy bit to race lol.

Best of luck wae yer young birds lads
