bullcock Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Solway?Sorry, central west, not south, lol
Delboy Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 your right dell but ive always thought it was due to clashing and percy Could be any of the 4 mentioned Walter
dal2 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Sorry, central west, not south, lolNo difference in my opinion
bullcock Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Whats up with going from Dunbar to Otterburn? Some fanciers have forgot on the 3rd or 4th yb race it is usually a disaster , whether its inexperienced birds being jumped in or YBS that causes it, who knows but look back many years and race number 3 or 4 in the ybs is usually disastrous.ps. The west route for me was very good for returns but id still go for east marginally.Your right Del, it shouldn't be an issue but our gut told us that this was going to be sticky and you have just said the 3-4 race is dodgy,Lanarkshire got far better returns than Glasgow by the looks of it one hour apart, the only difference seems to be yous where there last week and we were jumping from Dunbar. No difference in my opinionBig difference to us!

Big difference to us! Why
bullcock Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 WhyWhen we raced the west route we would half the convoy ever time we went to to Longtown or locherbriggs, you live in another world from us.
dal2 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 When we raced the west route we would half the convoy ever time we went to to Longtown or locherbriggs, you live in another world from us.Again. ...why

This might sound crazy but its an observation ive made over the years. Lanarkshire fed get different races ( returns etc )from Otterburn than what Glasgow fed get. I don't know the reason for this but it is true. Ask any Lanarkshire man and they'll say Otterburns a great racepoint, with very little losses, ask any from our neck of the woods and we have always lost a few??? Strange but true.I get my birds transported with Lanarkshire and usually I have a stinker in the first Otterburn with them regardless of how much training ive done. The first Otterburn I got 12/19 and was half an hour behind lol, a mystery but it happens every year. When we raced the west route we would half the convoy ever time we went to to Longtown or locherbriggs, you live in another world from us. Spot on
bullcock Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Again. ...whyAbout 12 years ago we all race from the west Solway area with 50% losses every race, when we started going East the returns were much better, this is not so good now but the Wesy route still looks like lambs to the slaughter still.Like I said another world!
Guest Jamsie Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Up to 7.30pm we were at 12/15, the Nom & Accy is one of the 3 missing !!!

This was your second Otterburn, our first, maybe that is why, your birdage tells a story, 19 sent in the first and 50 plus in the second you knew what was coming. Spot on
Delboy Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Its the 3rd Otterburn lol, but your right, I did expect it m8
dal2 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 About 12 years ago we all race from the west Solway area with 50% losses every race, when we started going East the returns were much better, this is not so good now but the Wesy route still looks like lambs to the slaughter still.Like I said another world! No sure about yer figures. I have raced both on numerous occasions. ......P*** races frae both sides........what's causing the poor racing into the west?
bullcock Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Its the 3rd Otterburn lol, but your right, I did expect it m8Well that makes even more sense lol, we are at Aycliff next week and had to go today even though we were holding our breath for returns, but they have to go!
hotrod Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 If you read my first post Stuart you will see I say that controllers need our support. My question is this........why are their so many ayrshire, Glasgow etc ybs floating around solway? That's not on any line is itWell that's the first anyone has mention Glasgow birds around the Solway today ??. Million dollar question why are birds off line ????
Paul Mac 31 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 just a quick one , Lanarkshire Fed entries Old Birds 2014 - 44,080 bLanarkshire Fed entries Old birds 2015 - 46,643 b by 8th race in the 2014 program entries - Upper Heyford 1215 bby 8th race in the 2015 program entries - peterborough 3551 b (that's 2336 b of a difference) also taking into account that we lose members year on year, birdage is up in 2015, can only mean loses are down.
dal2 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Well that's the first anyone has mention Glasgow birds around the Solway today ??. Million dollar question why are birds off line ????Not today Stuart, haven't seen any today, but we have transported a few up the road in the last few weeks

Very interesting m8
Paul Mac 31 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Very interesting m8 im not bothered where we race from, I'll be there regardless,, but figures don't lie about returns Del, and before anyone says about distance Yes we could have a bit more early on. still massive difference.
hotrod Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Not today Stuart, haven't seen any today, but we have transported a few up the road in the last few weeksRacing been good here ,till this week .
Delboy Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 just got another 48/51, first since back of 3 today
wullybhoy Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Racing been good here ,till this week . Was ok for me m8 I have 23/25 I don't know what happened to most of our Feds birds but hope some turn in tomorrow.
dal2 Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 About 12 years ago we all race from the west Solway area with 50% losses every race, when we started going East the returns were much better, this is not so good now but the Wesy route still looks like lambs to the slaughter still.Like I said another world! So what we have figured out here us that the 1. Moffat hills are stopping you boys racing west 2.returns from the east are way better. 3. The solway is an easy bit to race lol. Best of luck wae yer young birds lads
