sparko Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Was just curious about this as im new to the sport so here goes, my young birds go out at 8am and I don't see them again for an hour then they come in for feed to the whistle but in the afternoon I let them out at 3pm and they don't seem to do more than 10 mins so is this right or should I be worried about it ? the birds are on natural this season till i get another loft built and i feed them light in morning and their main feed in the evening ,someone said its too soon between exercise for them and they shoud be at least 9 to 10 hours between letting them out, so should they do an hour in morning and an hour in evening too or just let them do as the choose ? they have also had a good few tosses to 20 mile and make it back from 21 to 25 mins.

sparko Posted August 3, 2015 Author Report Posted August 3, 2015 Thanks for that guys ,maybe the others are getting worried as its our first race at the weekend
Wiley Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 The reason they fly so well in the morning is because theyve had a big feed the previous evening, that is all so time the evening comes they are hungry again hence the reason for poor flying effort of the evening. My birds only go out at afternoons so i feed heavy in mornings and light in evenings as i want there evening exercise to be good. However saying that if i read it rightly your birds are out of sight for an hour, they would be in the training basket if they was mine.
