In my experience 572miles iss a fookin long way!!!! Yes the yearling could fly it but a more experienced head might be an advantage if the birsd has to overnight or go down for water in the flying time

the decision is yours alone , dont know how its bred ? how its performed ? how much work its had ? is this a big jump for it mileage wise? what about the terrain ? must assume it going over water ? has it flown over water before ? has it been fed right? etc,etc

if you can answer all the above , and still have confidence to send it , then i wish all the very best . please let us know what you decide to do, and how you get on.

If the pigeon is in good racing condition and been racing consistently I would have no qualms about sending with confidence

furthest she has been is 300 miles and hasn't been over the water, it's another 272 miles for her she is extreme distance bred she feels and handles lovelly better than two of the cocks i'm sending.

Put her away to next year she's done well to fly 300 mile as a yearling but that's just my opinion . :emoticon-0167-beer: :emoticon-0167-beer: :emoticon-0167-beer:

I send my yearlings to 400 plus but prob not as far as 500 I try and get them a channel race as a yearling to prep them for Reims 576 miles all mine are bread from proven distance lines I find arras as a yearling prepares them for the channel as a two year old imo hope this helps

Here in ayrshire its getting harder to have a 2 or 3 year old pigeon so i am getting of the opinion to send yearlings to these races and 10 yrs from now you might have a family where this distance is the norm.
