Delboy Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 I believe George was responsible for the breeding of FALLOWHILL SUPERSTAR, imo the best Rennes winner in the last 50 years.

George Brownlie's bloodlines were also responsible for McCulloch & Son [ Dalbeattie ] Rennes winner. Honeyman & Son's Rennes winner was also half Brownlie blood.

That's right Brian, Urrview Star and Honeymans Dream ( which I believe, looked a bit like Fallahill Superstar )all were brilliant distance pigeons!

Yes Derek, Honeyman's Dream was the same colour as Fallahill Superstar. The other side of Honeymans Dream breeding was a Dennis Dall pigeon. Dennis himself had a very good Mealy Hen bred by George Brownlie - she scored 3 or 4 times from the channel. George Brownlie IMO was a master breeder of distance pigeons.

Ye know yer stuff Brian, I think Ken Buchanan still races Brownlie Van Hees and has a decent hen that's scored well up in the SNRPC 4 times.
Mossgiel Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Had a misspent youth Derek, doos on the brain Do remember reading something about Ken Buchanan's success with the Brownlie birds.

Me too m8 , just always loved distance doos and the stories that went along with them. You are correct, George Brownlie was a master breeder and will be sorely missed.
