geordie1234 Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 Very unfortunate scenes at the Uddingston clubs hut the whole floor has collapsed and is getting replaced at the costs of thousands of pounds
geordie1234 Posted November 26, 2014 Author Report Posted November 26, 2014 I have been told that an emergency sale will take place to help the club overcome the costs of the extensive work.... keep your eyes peeled for sale details as I believe it will be in the very near future. Also been informed the quality in this sale will make your eyes water with national winners and fed winners blood in the sale. Hope the guys over in Uddingston manage to raise enough funds to cover the damage
alec guinness Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 Not good geo! If the lads are having a sale to raise some funds I would like to give a latebred off my very best, the boys can let me know.

Guest bigda Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) was it you who done the repair ? that looks like brickie work if you ask me, a brickie would not get a red neck even if you used a blow torch on him looks like a brickie that is setting out the joist span they should be 400 centers and a dwarf wall put in place to make a proper job of it, Edited November 26, 2014 by bigda

geordie1234 Posted November 27, 2014 Author Report Posted November 27, 2014 i thought this was a planned job for the winter GeorgeAt the club AGM it was in the balance sheet to raise funds with a sale in April to get it fixed bt the floor gave way and collapsed!!! I'm sure Jim will fill you in
Smithy1 Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 I think a big club like Uddingston will sort the floor no problem.A few quid onto everyones subs and everyone selling a fitba card will pay for it.Im sure one or two of their members must be able to do a wee bit joiner work...Thats the beauty of being a big club when you run into problems...

dal2 Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 Believe the quote was over 2 and half kBoys in the fechan would have that sorted on a Saturday morning George lol
eastcoaster Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 My solution would be brick pillars with steel beam to support floor joists . The problem could be how bad the ground is for building sleeper walls so the beams would solve that .jmo
