Start it off by taking a leaf out of the Up North Combines book, sort off.

Make the agreement to jointly transport on a rotational basis with federation liberations. Convoying Fed last liberation, next to convoy 2nd last, etc. That way you cut the costs which helps all the Feds and all Feds have an opportunity for first liberation, etc.

Once you have this operating, it should be easier to progress it. This should be done as a management decision. Some common sense discussions to work on race routes, so that once the individual Feds have had say 4 races they are able to come together to suit a project of this type. After say 4 races jointly convoyed under area liberations you should be far enough down the road to have a mass liberation.

The hard bit is having some common sense and some discussions instead of arguments. The loudest voice is not always the correct voice to listen to. Try blowing over the top of an empty bottle and repeat the exercise over the top of a full bottle, then chose the bottle you would prefer to have. :)

Put 2 full baskets side by side and liberate 1. Watch the panic in the second basket. UNC liberate whole transporters 1 at a time.

Firstly, nobody I know is saying they dont want a joint liberation with another fed! I asked who's idea this was but never got an answer. As for anybody shouting, I think it was a committee member on the table that was doing most of the shouting on Tuesday night. Its an awful job that members dont feel that they are told enough, and when we do have questions we are classed as trouble makers as its not what the committee want to discuss! We all have a right to know whats being discussed, we all pay our fees and want whats best for our birds.

Ok I've called various members that were at the meeting so lets get this straight,

I heard exactly what I said!

JIMMY SIMPSON STATED MORE THAN ONCE THAT ALMOND VALLEY CONTACTED MIDLOTHIAN FED ABOUT A JOINT CONVOY. This was clearly a lie and its took you 5 days to try and twist what was a simple question into I DONT LISTEN!!!! We all heard the same thing Peter.

Your members only have whats in the birds best interests at heart so why lie and tell half truths?

Yes many of us agree that the only way forward for out Fed is to have a joint convoy and liberation, so why when we ask for our Committee to approach Pentlands with this it is instantly dismissed?? Surely having another Fed on our doorstep and our neighbour are who we should be discussing this proposal to. Lets face it, would you shop at Asda down in Dunbar when we have one just up the road??????

BIRDS BEST INTEREST!!!!!

There were members, who after hearing of a joint convoy with Almond Valley have decided to leave Midlothian Fed, and thats the truth. Surely we stand a much greater chance of keeping our Fed alive by at least trying what most of the members have suggested and approach Pentlands, at least that way we may even stand a chance of members/clubs returning to our Fed at a later date.

I have no ill feeling towards Almond Valley and at no point set out to slag off anyone.

So thats how you want to play this? Yes a proposal will be made, but surely we as members put these ideas forward and our committee work out what costs etc can be made. I dont have the books to see what finances the Fed have or can afford.

We as members are trying to find ways to keep our Fed alive and pass our thoughts onto the committee. Surely only once its been established that a joint convoy is possible would the "relevant information" be discussed between the two committees and then the proposals brought to the members????

It appears that the committee were all for working out costs etc when you approached Almond Valley so why not for this?

WELL SAID Barry .i don,t think any club that has moved to pentland from midlothian would move back. thats only my own opinion.why race against 100s when you can race against 1000s.also pentland fed is going from strength to strength while midlothian are going the other way with a very big loss of members.just a bit info for them that need it midlothian fed border is the exact same as pentland hill fed border.

Cheers for that Gary and you might be right about what you said about clubs not coming back but at least there would still be a Fed there to go back to and that would be a members choice.

Barry if you put a proposal in you have to answer to your proposal so you need to do your homework to let the members know what the costs are etc so get cracking
