jonl6280 Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I'm sure some people on here been before that could give more detail's, would be good to hear I would love to go a road trip over there
ovy1255 Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 if you are thinking of going over i would recommend you go on an organised bus trip for your first visit, first w/end in march is when houten corn exchange is on -1000s of y/birds for sale as well as trip to leir market and natural breeding station.trips you might consider--irish lads come across into england and will pick up on route to hull-some of the scotish lads meet up at stranraegillys trip from n/east-departs darlington picking up on the way to hullgoodyears trip -you could jump his bus at hull leaveing your motor at hull.or if you want a little leir you could travel to consett--frank armstrong should be running his little lier as he did last year and there was a guy selling walter docx direct youngstersif you want phone numbers i will try and get some for you.last years advertlittle lier.bmp
glencameron Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 From the first Sunday of January to the first Sunday of May, in the market square Lier , between 6 and 13 hours (in the past few years the exact location in Lier has been changes a few times partly due to building works) Many successful birds originate from Lier. The ET of Andres Drapa, in Scotland John Duthie had a wonderful mealy, In both instances they were from very good lofts. A lot of lofts are not good but the times I have been there is usually somebody decent (last time had Frans Laeremans and a guy I have been following for years but his birds were gone in 10 seconds by the Germans before I could even say hello, I guess got to say “Auf auf Wiedersehenâ€. Of course buying from a good loft possible means little in January when they should need them maybe you should buy a set from origins that look healthy Again in the greatest sport in the world some good fun to be had , visiting lofts, re—invigorating yourself in preparation for the season ahead, almost inevitably for a let-down when you have simply bought rubbish (like we all breed)
Guest chad3646 Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 i suppose it is like any other market you get good pigeons and bad pigeons, if you are lucky enough you will get the good one,s best of luck
