Race Programs

race programs should be left to clubs, but adjudicated by the federation, the fed should supply a ballot paper with 20 race points from each WEST, CENTRE, EAST RACE POINTS

AND EACH MEMBER GIVEN A BALLOT SHEET, AT THERE CLUBS AGM each member states first there preference, west centre, east. A tick the box style, then tick 11 named race points, that they want to race from. and then 6 young bird race points. the club chairmen will count the vote for each race. take note and send in to the fed, for the delegates to count the overall ballot. and then give the result out. at there AGM this can be a yearly event to take in. and acknowledge bad race points from the previous year. each ballot sheet would be accompanied by fed fees, and a fed registration number

this would stop the infighting each year. and it would be a democratic vote, as the fed cant at present get a hall big enough to hold 500 members, that has a fire security certificate emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

Has been the case for many years here, 50 or more at least. But then one never knows the real outcome.

So would add to the above post ALL voting to be disclosed.

we have about 20 clubs in our fed and wouldn't be hard to break it down, as we have also got 3 sections and the delegates are made up from club members, the reason this need to be done as there aint a big enough hall to hold 500 members, locally. that have a fire security certificate, the biggest hall locally can only hold 250, any more than that they do not have a valid certificate. so if 500 had to turn up they could not hold the meeting.

and i am sure there would be some, just awaiting there chance to dob the federation into the authorities and the social club in, for over crowding such as the way people are now days we can not leave ourselves open for such a act. emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

Is it not so that the clubs are members of a federation and not the members of clubs (members members). How it works under RPRA rules is clubs propose a race program, how a club go about choosing this is there own business. Does this differ to your organisation?

yes tony we have the tail wagging the dogemoticon-0126-nerd.gif most times, and then have constant in house fighting, when the out come arrives with members not liking the direction chosen, clubs must be allowed to pick the route, and then the federation take on the task of getting the birds to the said race points, freeing it self up from the squabbles. there are some members

only interested in national racing, and not that of the federation, and have no qualms about stretching the fed for distance to suit, and have there own agenda, where i feel the fed should be looking after its own interest and not that of another, we had a ring issue of 18,000 but sad to say in the persuite for distance of young birds, we are now the poorer for it, with something like 3,000 young birds left going as yearlings next year

That's how ours works Tony, then decided at Fed level, then it gets altered to suit fanciers who don't want to fly with us at AMAL. expletive remove

I would like to see feds take us up to the 300 mile mark and if anyone wanted to go further can go with the national organisations. Once the fed reached 300 miles wee could have 4 or 5 races at that distance or a few shorter races. This way we would have the choice of sprint/ middle distance racing the whole season and also if the fancier wanted can go with the nationals for distance racing.

Only my opinion

That's a bit too far for Bigda he's looking for 12 Kelsos I think :emoticon-0126-nerd:

you would have the chance of nominating your own race points, and if it meant 6 young bird races from kelso and we had 16,000 birds left from the 18,000 ring issue they then go as yearlings we would kick of our season, and the fed making near £8,000 from the first old bird race each year. and also £8,000 per race at 6 kelso,s = £42,000 money in the bank giving us the opportunity to rid the sky's and flight path with special races emoticon-0126-nerd.gif
