nogin Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 The ring i thought when marked had a code added at marking which then coresponded at arrival at the race end. quite correct
Guest Paulo Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Not sure that is ideal situation either I dont like the idea of birds keep having to be put in different baskets had in club i was in they would only give us so many crates so the rest of the birds had to be put in someones basket to take down to the transporter to put in crates there Id would rather pay the extra money and have room for birds not topped up crates and cramped birds to save costs very few manage to fill a transporter now and have plenty of empty crates so why overcrowd them same with me Rose
Roland Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Was a case, though it was boo hooed strongly as rediculous via the Pro ET brigade, a few years back, where a fellow realised that when he press his remote 'Open' on his garage door it affected his ET. Open was a minute slower... Closed was a minute faster. Now a few very good sauces swore this was true, and the clock makers had to review and change many clock. The pro brigade swear they were recalled for another reason. Never bothered me,but was interested reading the threads. Yes have seen the reason why some were recalled, things added, changed etc. But never saw the reason given for that one when they went back. Knew a lad, 25 years back, that was hacking big time from his schools computer. THis was when they were often the world's leader in discovering things in space etc. etc. the class room had to be locked up when a responcible teacher wasn't attending. Knew the computer etc. not which lad. He sent driving lincenses, Furniture etc. etc. all paid for and above board... well was no come back .... He said 'Nothing' in technoligy was fool proof, and as quick as they fix... another will unfix. Just look at the 'Cloning / Cheating with the banks, the 'Hole in the wall etc. etc. 99.99999 will never be interested, and 99.999999 that are, won't be able... so pretty safe, as long as no one is allowed near their own birds and a different two as many times as possible in the night - random is best - then it is pretty much safe I'm sure.
THE FIFER Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 If you let anyone mark or put through their own birds you break RPRA rule 188 but then im not sure how these small clubs get away with it ive known clubs where they have only had a couple of members sending :-/ there is a rule in scotland that there must be at leased 4 members present, i could be wrong with the number could be 5 not got my book handy,About ETS when it first came into use by the SHU I was dead against it, did everything possible to talk against it at SHU counncil meetings etc, and voted against it at the AGM, resigned from my Presidents job with the FED, through it. but now I think I would give up if I had to go back to the conventional clock, had ETS for 3 years now, even along with sapper do all the regestering and clocks up to date, its the best thing ever, does all the work for you. giving and working out all the velocities for every bird clocked, less time basketing, less time marking, less time taking off, and no waiting on the secretary taking all your times home to work out who has won, its all there when you take your clock off each member gets a sheet with al;l birds clocked and their velocities, after all clocks taken off you print out one for the club it gives the first 10 birs and velocities, you go away home knowing the winners and also know the velocities of all your own birds, you timed, what is wrong with that, 8) 8)

Your hands are shaking cause you know its a good one and someone is timing on at the same time. thats why we do the sport its like being a mountain climber and getting a cable car to the top of the mountain. Technology will be the death of the human race!!!! Perosnally even if our club gets ets I will use my clock as I don't have to use timbles now its much faster. What I resent in the NEHU is that on probably one of the most major issues to effect the sport in years we didn't have a loft by loft vote. If that had happened and it had been introduced fair enough! So much for democracy the big money men who sell the systems and the flock flyers having their way again! I'm a young man of 27 as well so its not like I'm a luddite I can programme a video set up a dvd player and everything lol

Ronnie Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 I think its like has been said the majority just arnt interested in cheating and the one's that are will cheat any system if given enough time.I dont use ETS but pretty sure if i put my mind to it i could cheat it if i wanted whether that be via cloning ring's or other methods less conspicuos .I probably could. But why would i want to ?I race Pigeons to see how good they are against other Pigeons and to test my management skill's.

THE FIFER Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 what would happen if you registered 2 rings for one bird you can say the first ones not working then take another blank ring down and register that one again then you could have 2 rings for one bird ? just a quiery i had any thoughts ? you cant do that, the ring registered must be unregistered first, and all rings registered has the owners union number on it.

"wotever" it's only doomed if the likes o you think it is! :-/
Guest Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 There will always be some smart a*** who will try and 'buck the system' but they all get found out in the end. Cheats never Prosper
ALF Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Talking of crap can't you just imagine telling your mates "never seen ma doo fae Rennes coming I was making a nice cup of tea at the time, thats the beauty of ets" Says it all ,sport is doomed. At Alencon this year "me" a club mate of mine who's loft is only about 100 yds from mine timed 2 doos that were on the result and was'nt there to see any of them in fact he was hardly there all day at all :-/ :-/ Myself i never left the loft until i timed at 7.13pm that night and i was there before 7am and i have ETS aswell :P ;D ;D ;D ;D
maverick Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 How many times have you been caught out not knowing how long the bird has been there none of that now with E.T.S

You seem to be under the impression, everybody who uses ets are constantly away from their lofts, how wrong are you?????
Guest Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Been racing for 50 years now and never been caught out yet, but I suppose as tail end charlie I shouldn't anyway ;D ;D ;D
Guest Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 we have been hearing that in the near future ets birds will be recorded when leaving the transporters so surely this would remove any doubters on ets and cheating this came from unicon via their agents also the facility to track your birds via satelite in that meaning how far they are from home 10, 20,60, 160 miles we were told this via our club dave
Guest Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 You seem to be under the impression, everybody who uses ets are constantly away from their lofts, how wrong are you????? how true im set up at least 2 hours before the birds are due and still waitng all afternoon for any tail end charlies if some are still missing i am up at first light so no change from using a STB dave
Roland Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Rose RPRA rules state - I believe that there must be four different lofts sending to make a Marking station.... so if only two, then they are breaking the rules big time... and are applying the thin of a wedge.

pigeonscout Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Any system that involves electronics can be cloned or hacked!!! Fact!!!! People can hack into the US Militarys Computer Systems so they can hack a pigeon clock! The bar code is only put onto the ring at marking it is that ring bar code that has to be timed. So how would you get the bar code from the chip after the bird is in race the basket.
Guest redwhiteblue Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 it is big fact the biggest cheat in living memory used to have ets and was a modst flyer with the odd 1 or 2 firsts easch year got rid of the ets became the best in the world make up your own minds for security there!!! mine is
