Guest Gareth Rankin Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 if you cant let them go before 6am change the rule book its not worth the paper its written on if you cant let them up in the daylight hours why have them flying in the dark iam sure you dont need 6am gives you queer racing any time you will get bad racing the bad racing we have endured for may i ask how long dont mention it but it certainly not with early liberations ----------------------------------------- > :K) :B :-/ I dont think there is a rule which states that you cannot liberate before 06.00, remember back in the 80's where you seem to get a 05.30 liberation every so often, the reason i assume they don't liberate earlier is to give the pigeons time to get a drink.

Correct me if Im wrong but I think I can remember a Rennes race in the 70s when the lib was 04.45 :-/
Guest redwhiteblue Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Correct me if Im wrong but I think I can remember a Rennes race in the 70s when the lib was 04.45 :-/ what age where you then 40
Delboy Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 what age where you then 40 yes, just about the age you are now
walterbmasson Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 ;D a basket of birds wont take more than 15 min to all get a good drink all they want to do after that is get into the skys and head home they make there own water after that ;D
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Correct me if Im wrong but I think I can remember a Rennes race in the 70s when the lib was 04.45 :-/ With you been a good bit older than "me" (and boy it shows) you will know better than "I". If libs were possible at this time of the morning Delboy it would make a hell of a difference to the quantity of pigeons been timed on the shift into the East, West and North sections which to say the least have been few and far between as of late.

budgie Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 After over 114 years of racing pigeons into Scotland what have we learned regarding Politicians.Lets go back down memory lane when our fore fathers laid the foundations way back in 1894. They would now turn in their Grave with the dis- harmony and the split with two organizations.Lets re-unite and forget our differances and be the One Great Club we once were. Its all about the gallant pigeons that home from France and the Doo Men who wait their return. One day we will all be Re-United. Budgie

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 your dad looked about 18, Gareth. Did you hear how big Heeps got on at the show Yes me and dad are ageing very well as for Heeps i'll have a guess and say he got 1 less than yourself.
hotrod Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 I thought the thread is about hours of darkness ,so hears my bit ,i,m on west coast. in summer it starts to get light here before 4am and daylight at around 4:30,but all depends on weather conditions and starts to get dark at around 10:30 really dark at 10:45 so that to me seams to between 5 3/4 hrs and 6 hrs which to me seems a fair reflection of hours of darkness. As for early libs the weather these last 3 or 4 years does not let us have true races up early home on night but if we didn,t have the midday libs we wouldn,t have had races at all.Frank dooman i think your wrong as 10:45 and 4:45 is the same time if thats what the closing and opening times are not a minutes difference ,also race controllers have to phone line of flight so that takes time ,drink for birds etc that why they couldn,t lib at 4:30 remember they have to phone peoples houses at these times in morning ,i know i wouldn,t like a phone call before 5:00 am in summer then do the birds then go to work have a thought boys for all who do jobs behind the scene.
Delboy Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Fairness in SNFC there is no such thing !!!!!

Bluedoo Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Gareth I can't agree with the mid-day libs from the Kings Cup, although I do agree that the 600+ mile race could be a later than EAP lib due to the fact that the birds more often than not are not expected on the day, unless its a blow home or there's a cheat, like a couple of years ago, but 530-560miles should be day races. For the north section it is 600 miles for the Kings Cup!
