LADS THE AGM IS OVER WE MOVE ON,I WISH THE NEW FED LEADERS A GREAT 2010 SEASON.IT WAS THE BEST ATTENDED AGM IN YEARS.AS FOR THE BIRD LIMIT IMO 50 BIRDS IS PLENTY.IT WILL COST YOU LESS ON FEED AND LESS TIME CLEANING THEM OUT.THE INFC BROUGHT A 20 BIRD LIMIT IN LAST YEAR AND THAT AFFECTED A LOT OF PEOPLE.I STILL THINK THE TOP FLYERS WILL STILL WIN WHETHER THEY SEND 20 OR 100 BIRDS,WHAT THIS LIMIT WILL DO IS STOP THE MOB FLYERS CHUCKING EVERYTHING IN EACH WEEK HOPEING TO GET A DECENT ONE IN THE CLOCK..AS WAS SAID EARLIER THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS EVERYBODY WILL GET THEIR BIRDS ON THE NEW TRANSPORTERS THAT WE ALL PAID FOR.

Well said bandit, there are a lot of feds around that would love to be in the position the ISRF is in, including being able to put a birdage limit on due to space, even though they have 2 transporters!!

ATB to all in ISRF for 2010.

well tp end this matter on a positive note maybe people might keep a closer look on the birds as there were plenty of sick birds on the transporter also.... mikey.... plus pjc if you look you will see that ive never complained about it as i think its not a bad idea after all... if you cant win a race with 50 birds max you should start playing domino s or something... just my opinion... mikey

to be honest it should be upto the fancier how many birds he or she puts in as i only had 17 ybs last year and on most points at presentatin evening but i wasnt complaining fair enough the more birds more of a chance but it depends on quality of birds not quantity but i still think its stupid to have a rule like that to be honest

and the tucker fell as well... thats that sarsfeild club with the cheap pints frank... when you coming back over to us ;) i'll buy ye a couple

Sorry I missed all the fun I was away in the south of France for the weekend, just checking on the new pool dont you know :P :P

Yes Ger we will have to get Frank over here but make sure you save up for it, you know how tight them jocks are  ;) ;) ;)

Glad all that nonsence about splitting the fed was rejected, its hard enough to keep the fanciers that are there and now the fees are dropped maybe some might get back into the sport.

The bird limit is not going to affect too many people and I think is just about sorting some space on the transporter, if you have more than 50 you will have to split your team,

Hey gangster poor Tucker will be gutted whens he reads that Im better looking than him lol.

He always knew but just wont admit it.

Fair play to him he has just been elected new secetary of the Sarsfield RPC big job hope he does well. Hes going to be impossible now, wont be able to get into the door with his big head :) :) :)

Capacity not an issue in the fed, we have 2 new transporters but also still have the 2 old ones.... now we have capacity for 23000 if we needed it! Remains to be seen if the new state of the art transporters give better returns than our old trailers, I know 1 thing, its more dangerous loading the new lorries, no platforms, back to scaffolding tower which we stopped using in the 80's after a couple of accidents. Anyone notice the bill for 1500 euros on the balance sheet?

Also the new crates have very sharp edges, think you'll need gloves unless you want to lose a finger......

wasnt at the meeting Alan, (no longer a member) but what reason did they give for putting a limit on in the first place, is it just to stop the big team men or was there another reason, did the motion come from a club or from the fed commitee?

Looks like its going to be a lot slower to load the crates as well as dangerous, hope the fed has plenty of insurance?

The 50 bird limit was voted in by the men in the hall,it was on the agenda so anybody with concerns should have been at the meeting,it was a very good turn out and most left the hall very happy. alan sending a third lorry will cost us loads of extra money and it would go less than half full,on a good race we get arround 11000 to 12000 birds so no need now to send a third truck  thus saying money for the fed, just a thought we will be using less ets rings now so saving allround id say.

I've no problems with the decision, it was about 80/20 in favour of the limit, thats democracy. I also have the right not to agree even if a 50 bird limit will not affect me.

Turnout was excellent, best I've seen in many years and I have been to the agm for the last number of years. As I said in another post on another site money was never mentioned as a reason for the limit, nor was capacity on the trucks. Tommy Lowry spoke on the issue which was a motion from the committee and he mentioned fairness. Nobody put forward an argument that it would save us from sending a 3rd truck because nobody knows how many members/ pigeons are affected. I think on races when we have channel and land races on the same day we may well need a 3rd lorry to go. If thats the case the spare lorry would leave with even less crates on it, meaning less revenue.

Think this limit will affect a lot of people with youngbird racing, going on figures over the last few years we average 30 per man in the first couple of youngbird races. Who knows may be a side effect that people don't get wiped out too early.....

As for ets ring sales no worries Paul I won't be putting the prices up to compensate!!! :)

alan i agree some people will be annoyed not being able to send all their birds but there could be a silver lining in that the big team flyers will now send more to the channel, lets see how it goes and wish the new fed commitee good luck for 2010. glad to hear the ets rings are not going up,ill still be getting another 60 off you later in the year.have a good season yourself.

whats the ihu national race programme any1 know????

Just a thought, does the 50 include 'Trainers'? I think this may well be the next way some will use to send more, for training and expierence of course. Yes Iknow that they would have to pay the same. Indeed man may have a few 'Trainers' before their 'Race Birds' lol. But then again that is y/b - even O/B racing.

Only downside - outside of revenue which as it stands seems to be favourable in cash terms - some may well have to jump their birds in at later stages, indeed throughout the y/b season. In our Fed that would mean after the first fortnight a jump of 125 - 150 miles or more. JMO

would the lads with the big teams not just fly out of 2 clubs

thus still getting 100 birds away

i think that way they are still only due 1 fed fee but 2 club fees

Posted
Putting limits on the birds is only going to drive up costs and it's expensive enough just now as it is CRAZY!!!

not in ABERDEEN every body pays the same and we cant fill the tranporter

THEY CAN ONLY SEND MAX 50 BIRDS TO A RACE NOW .MOST MEMBERS WANTED IT AND THEY GOT IT,END OF STORY.A LOT OF HAPPY MEMBERS AND A FEW UNHAPPY MOB FLYERS.NO WAY ROUND IT NOW.

Fine Bandit. I of course have no beef, indeed am one that will always go with the 'Vote'. May havemore than a fair share of spouting before hand lol.

So I was thinking aloud so to speak and just looking at ways some may try to overcome it.

When I'm racng, and have a settle family  which I know and trust, 20 old birds and 30 youngster tops, will be a big team for me. These too will have to fly both routes. Thgis may help to sort the chaf from the wheat, but doubt it as a decent bird takes that in their stride.

However, the Likes of some that send 200 birds are often the 'Persuaesive Leader's and often Feather Merchants. Now if there was - obviously not though as it would never have got passed - these would / will certainly get around it, or get it changed within two years tops.

So though I wouldn't be affected of course, it was a thought some might be.

Definitely got the biggest cheer of the day when it passed, quite an eventful meeting. Wish Mick Roche all the best with the new job of president, following Henry is a thankless job, won't be easy. Glad to see a good turnout which is important to any organisation. As I stated earlier the limit was the clear wish of the members and that has to be respected. Now let the fun begin!

Bandit let me know when you need the rings I'll talk to you then.

can see the lanarkshire, call for a  bird limit in the near future , still have the same amount of members,  but the quality of birds improve,  as what is needed in the modern age of pigeon racing, also to do with cost,  only the best will be tolerated, better for the fancier and the bird, as the birds  will evolve  over the hawks, less amount of birds to eat , and faster birds they cant catch  ;D
