I race a small team as you know but to have limit is silly as the more birds that are sent the more money it brings into the sport. It works out cheaper to send a full lorry than it does to send one half full. I race with guys that send 100+ and it makes no difference as numbers dont win speed wins. Glado each member can only send 50 birds but each member still has to beat the hundereds of birds in the club. The best flyer you have down there is Gerry and he has been for years. The last time I was at his place he was racing a small team. If a guy wants to send 100 birds let them it will not make the fastest bird slower or the slowest bird faster.

Guest gladdo Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 john i hear what you are saying ... good point but ive heard there is 2 transporters and there was problems about birds going in seperate crates etc..i just let them sort it and i just send the birds i wouldnt normally send 50 birds but im not against it... i just go along with what was voted in and there will still be approx 500 birds a week in our club...maybe the people who fly big birdages will do better but maybe they wont... gerry o mara the best down here 100 percent mate.... mikey.. please note i only fly in this fd along with many other members ...1 great rule out is transporter of 200 euro cancelled to new members ... this year it was 450 euro s to join our club... now its 200 more like it... mikey

ALF Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Putting limits on the birds is only going to drive up costs and it's expensive enough just now as it is CRAZY!!!
Guest frank dooman Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 was this brought in because there is no room on the fed transporter for more than 50 birds per member??
Guest IB Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 I have bother following it too. Is there is a problem with a second fed transporter that's no longer up to scratch and no funds to replace it?
Guest frank dooman Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 dont think we will get an ans. ian
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Putting limits on the birds is only going to drive up costs and it's expensive enough just now as it is CRAZY!!! Exactly... silly politics in pigeons again... will we ever learn..??
owen101 Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 thats stupid IMO the less your allowed to send the lower the money and the less birdage im not from that region so i dont have a say but i find it stupid
DUBLINFLYER Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 sorry lads... yes previous years we have had major problems transporting birds, some crates ended up on a flat back truck to alot of dissatified fanciers annoyance, the members had to pay an extra 225euro levy, to help pay for our new transporters, so now lads are making sure that every members birds will get on it, you see before some members were coming down to the clubs with 100+ birds, and some mens birds never made it on the transporter coz these bhoys were coming down with so many, now the limit is there everyone can get on the brand new transporter, as well as this some lads felt that mob flyers had a unfair advantage, marmite springs to mind, but this is just my understanding as to why the limit was brought in
Guest frank dooman Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i can understand regarding the no of birds on the transporter but would it not just be possible to hook on a suitable trailer as for the bit about discruntilled fanciers not haveing as many birds as them to send sick is the word for them
Guest gladdo Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 the only question ill ask is who bought the transporter in first place with not enough room on it .... just glad that young fanciers can join our club for 250 euro instead of 450 odd .... better chance getting younger fliers now... mikey... ah well lets just enjoy the racing whatever the outcome....
Guest stb- Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 the only question ill ask is who bought the transporter in first place with not enough room on it .... just glad that young fanciers can join our club for 250 euro instead of 450 odd .... better chance getting younger fliers now... mikey 250 EURO THATS ABOUT £250 STILL SEEMS VERY EXSPENSIVE ??) ??)
Guest Dublin lofts Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 The fed should have got 2 big transporters, not 1big 1 and 1 small 1, as every year the lads breed more then they need to make up for there lotes
DUBLINFLYER Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 the only question ill ask is who bought the transporter in first place with not enough room on it .... just glad that young fanciers can join our club for 250 euro instead of 450 odd .... better chance getting younger fliers now... mikey... ah well lets just enjoy the racing whatever the outcome.... how many fed meetings did you go to? transporters can only carry so many birds? we the members bought two transporters they will allow the fed to carry 11,500 birds thats plenty... i didnt see you there today gladdo
Guest gladdo Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i think its very expensive .... see the two sides is about things is they should let young fanciers in for free some way ... however then you will have people racing in thier kids name so there has to be a fee,,,... 259 euros around 220 stg id say roughly.... mikey... we have 41 members and i heard poss another 3now so that will be 44 members and most are fliers ....mikey
Guest frank dooman Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 the way forward is a transporter and a trailer when the birdage drops as the races go out you just drop off the trailer simple i wish the sport was growing in this country thats a problem we would love
Guest gladdo Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 no i never went today as whatever happens , happens ... thank you ...ill go with the flow ....whatever i think it aint going to change a ting...all fanciers have to deal with this so its all levelled out.... mikey
DUBLINFLYER Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i can understand regarding the no of birds on the transporter but would it not just be possible to hook on a suitable trailer as for the bit about discruntilled fanciers not haveing as many birds as them to send sick is the word for them frank regardless of how many birds you can or cant send isnt the issue its about as you said its about making every body happy, this rule will only affect 20-25 men tops
DUBLINFLYER Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 no i never went today as whatever happens , happens ... thank you ...ill go with the flow ....whatever i think it aint going to change a ting...all fanciers have to deal with this so its all levelled out.... mikey i didnt see you last year either!!! you could of had your say today at the agm
