Guest stb- Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 The simple fact is that birds who have a home loft in the west must pass all the obstacles which the west has to offer. There is no way to avoid this.WORDS OF WISDOM FROM A NOVICE
walterboswell59 Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 If the truth be told the east is no better than the west the 2 worst races I recall Was on the east route (weatherby and Consset ) both times I lost half my team .And all this talk is a waste of time it's been repeated over and over again, now there Is no safe route.bang on wullie i had almost half my team hawked in newark and leicester last year 18 birds done for the year and lucky to have got home east is no better than west imo no where is safe now but the big difference i see whe we get banged in the west birds turn up next morning and later in the week on the east route you did not see them again as frank says something must be done en mass or we are wasting or time

Delboy Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Tell me how the fcek is Warwick west!its west of centre, not really west coast lol
jonl6280 Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 its west of centre, not really west coast lol Its whack bang in the centre of England
Guest bigda Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Tell me how the fcek is Warwick west! why are the doos coming out of the north then something made them go west and arc around if the birds come up the west coast at sea level there would be no trouble but i believe they are getting driven into the hills and they cant rise out of it or any glens or valley if we have to race west get the race points changed and then get them on the coastal routes give the birds a chance AS THERE IS A ESCAPE ROUTE ONE SIDE OF THEM, The birds of old used to come up through the Nith valley following the railway line no problem, but i believe they still do but it is near imposable for big birdage to pass through it nowdays
Delboy Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Its whack bang in the centre of England I know exactly where it is, slightly west of centre, as I said
jonl6280 Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 Its in line with Aberdeen north to south and east of Edinburgh on that line
Guest bigda Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPING TO A YEARLING RACE IN THE LANARKSHIRE FED, AND WITH THE PUSH ON FOR DISTANCE PROVED IT TODAY, WHEN IT WAS THE OLD STAGERS THAT GAVE MOST A TIMER, THE YEARLING OPEN SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 180 MILE MAX. and for the crazy s they could send them there's on to the end, if they liked. i also believe we start a month to early when we missed the race that was the start of the fed going belly upand with only 60 odd members of the national in the lanarkshire fed it is not right to decimate our fed, in your hairbrained idea of wining the national at our cost. the position is now, do you want to break next years yearling, this year also. if you want distance hire newmains truck and go to lands end if you like. whole year ruined inside 3 weeks well i hope you get charged £10 per doo to make up for the loss of birdage in your quest for distance and you will no be so keen to put yer hand up, next year

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Hoddoms yearling cup is frae bedhampton 300 mile next week we have yearlings going to Messac which is just under 400 miles last year in same race half were yearlings half were older birds,we dropped one which was 2 years old, last week at Carentan we had 20 birds away,12 were 2 year olds and 8 were yearlings,we dropped one yearling and one 2 year old,if ours had to race 180 miles max then we would not even get them to the coast but it is each to their own what they do and how far they send them
